Medical Administrative Assistant

We are a busy Eye Clinic in Richmond Hill with ophthalmologist and optometrists. We require a kind-hearted, energetic team player who is ready to provide excellent patient care of all ages.
**Skill Sets required**:
- Able to multi-task and work in a high paced environment; be flexible with hours (some late day finish times & occasional Saturdays) and be able to adapt to changes with new technologies and information.
- Be professional, polite and attentive while being accurate. One must be pro-active and enjoy creating a positive experience for others.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills (any 2nd language is an asset).
- Above average to excellent computer knowledge and typing skills
**Responsibilities include**:
- Returning and triaging phone calls to patients and other health care providers in timely manner
- Scheduling appointments; accurately documenting & attaching patient information on electronic medical records (EMR) (in our office, Telus PSS); billing.
- Obtain patient history, pre-testing, and ophthalmic imaging and diagnostic testing (OCT, visual fields) for patients
- Frame selections, dispensing glasses, and minor frame repairs, order preparations, checking inventory
- Patient education, surgical bookings, courtesy calls
- General daily maintenance of office.
Pay: $17.50-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Richmond Hill, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
**Education**:
- Secondary School (required)
