Five Counties Children’s Centre (FCCC) has been dedicated to supporting children and youth with physical, developmental and communications needs for nearly five decades. In partnership with families and communities, we provide outpatient and community-based services with the aim of enriching the independence and wellness of those we serve ~ Building Abilities for Life.
We assess and treat clients from infancy to their late teens, offering a wide variety of services including physiotherapy, occupational therapy speech and language therapy, social work and therapeutic recreation. We provide treatment in schools, in the community and at our locations in Peterborough, Lindsay, Cobourg, Campbellford and Minden.
FCCC is proud of the partnerships we have developed within the community. These partnerships have assisted families in our communities to access additional services that are needed to assist with their child’s development.
**About the Job**:
In this position, you will be responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of activities related to fundraising operations including securing donations, events, volunteers, marketing and communications. This includes support for increasing fundraising revenues from individuals, community groups and corporations, collaborating with volunteers and ensuring that fundraising related activities conform to organizational standards and policies.
**Your key responsibilities will include**:
**Fundraising and Relationship Building**:
- Assist in the development of a fundraising strategic plan and annual operating plans.
- Ensure that fundraising activities are consistent with Five Counties Children’s Centre mission, vision and values.
- Ensure that fundraising activities are conducted in an ethical and legal manner.
- Assist and support the identification and solicitation of prospective donors.
- Helps set and achieve annual fundraising targets related to annual giving.
- Cultivate and steward relationships with individual and corporate donors.
- Recognize donors and volunteers using a variety of tools.
- Identify and establish community partnerships which will result in support through sponsorships, promotion, in-kind support and/or donations.
- Assist with FCCC events, community partnership events, third party events and presentations (speaking engagements, donation announcements).
- Be involved with community networks as appropriate to the role.
**Communications and Marketing**
- Conduct an environmental scan of current fundraising communication infrastructure to identify gaps, challenges, and opportunities.
- Develop a fundraising communications strategy and framework incorporating achievable activities and approaches to continue increasing fundraising revenue.
- Ensure the communications strategy aligns to the Centre's strategic plan.
- Introduce new systems, technologies, and assets to enhance communication reach with donors.
- Develop digital and hard copy assets including stories, videos, photos, and fundraising materials to connect donors with our cause.
- Develop, deliver, monitor, and evaluate fundraising communications activities.
- Create metrics to evaluate communication plan impact.
- Create a strategy, along with FCCC staff handling overall Centre communications, for the delivery of communication activities.
**General/Administrative**:
- Develop metrics/gather data to analyze annual fundraising performance and program growth.
- Ensure the maintenance and accuracy of comprehensive records in the fundraising development database, including cost analysis and evaluations.
- Provide the Director of Fund Development with regular reports on the progress of the Centre’s fundraising activities related to annual giving activities.
- Provide information and updates of fundraising activities and revenues for Board meetings, newsletters, social media and the website.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of fundraising best practices and innovations.
- Maintain up to date knowledge and expertise in all aspects of legislation affecting philanthropy.
- Monitor and analyze trends in the region and industry in order to adapt fundraising strategies as necessary.
- Assist with communications and marketing activities for fundraising purposes.
**What You Bring**:
- Three year diploma in the business, marketing and/or non profit field.
- Minimum two years experience in marketing and communications and/or non for profit areas.
- Demonstrated track record in fundraising, including direct mail, working with volunteers, events, and database management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of effective marketing and communication practices.
- Knowledge of Canada Revenue Guidelines and Policies.
- Strong relationship and community development skills.
- Highly motivated and creative.
- Resourceful and independent, but comfortable working within a team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated team building skills, including the ability to motivate volunteers.
