**About Second Stage**:
Cowichan Women Against Violence Society is dedicated to providing safe and supportive housing for women and children who have experienced domestic violence or other forms of trauma. Our second-stage housing program offers a transitional environment where women can rebuild their lives, develop independence, and gain the skills needed for long-term stability_._ Our program has suites for women with up to 5 children as well as bachelor suites.

**Position Overview**:
The Assistant Manager supports staff and clients in navigating the complexities of trauma recovery while fostering a secure and nurturing environment that encourages clients to access wraparound resources and build resilience.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Leadership & Team Support**
- Support staff leadership and supervision, promoting feminist and trauma-informed practices.
- Assist in coaching staff and fostering an inclusive, equitable, and diverse workplace culture.
- Participate in decision-making with transparency and confidentiality.

**Program Management**
- Support the Program Manager in daily operations and trauma-informed service delivery.
- Assist with community engagement to enhance access to wraparound resources.
- Facilitate team meetings and staff development focused on trauma-informed care.
- Oversee client care integration, ensuring a secure environment for empowerment.
- Assist in rent collection and support clients with financial challenges using trauma-informed approaches.

**Client Services**
- Assist with client intake, referrals, crisis counseling, and support.
- Plan and deliver workshops and activities for cooperative living and healing.
- Facilitate client meetings to promote community living and address concerns.

**Administrative & Financial Duties**
- Assist in managing budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring compliance.
- Maintain accurate records and reports per CWAVS policies.
- Working with the Facilities Coordinator and Maintenance Staff to ensure a safe environment.
- Be available for on-call duties as needed.

**Qualifications**
- Degree in social services, business, or related field.
- 2+ years of leadership experience, preferably in social services.
- Understanding of trauma-informed practices and anti-violence work.
- Experience working with women and children who have experienced violence.
- Strong skills in de-escalation, conflict resolution, and mediation.
- Project management experience.

**Skills & Abilities**
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in high-pressure environments.
- Proficiency in budget oversight.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Familiarity with community resources for women and children.

**Other Requirements**
- First Aid Certificate.
- Successful Criminal Record Check.
