**Hours**: 32 hours per week, Wednesday-Saturday, 11-8pm

**About Second Stage**:
Cowichan Women Against Violence Society provides safe and supportive housing for women and children who have experienced domestic violence or other forms of trauma. Our second-stage housing program offers a transitional environment where women can rebuild their lives, develop independence, and gain the skills needed for long-term stability_._ Our program has suites for women with up to 5 children as well as studio suites.
**Position Overview**:
The Case Manager for Women’s Second Stage supports clients in navigating the complexities of trauma recovery while fostering a secure and nurturing environment that encourages clients to access wraparound resources and build resilience. The Case Manager works with clients to ensure they meet their goals and milestones geared towards successful transition into the next stage of housing.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Team Engagement**
Work with your team to

**Client Services - Initial Contact & Support**
- Assess suitability of applicants for the program.
- Provide information regarding abuse and safety planning.
- Assist in client intakes.
- Arrange for client move-ins.
**Client Services** **- Ongoing Support & Case Management**
- Provide emotional support for clients using trauma-informed practices.
- Assist clients through one on one and group settings to create goals and action plans to prepare them for independent living.
- Plan and deliver workshops and activities to build independent living skills and promote healing.
- Provide resources, information and referrals as needed.
- Facilitate client meetings to promote community living and address concerns.
**Administrative & Facility Duties**
- Maintain accurate documentation and records as per CWAVS policies.
- Maintain a safe working environment, following all health and safety protocol as outlined in CWAVS Policies and Procedures.
**Qualifications**
- Diploma or higher in social services, counselling or related field, or equivalent in experience.
- 2+ year of relevant experience.
- Understanding of trauma-informed practices and anti-violence work.
- Experience working with women and children who have experienced violence.
- Strong skills in de-escalation, conflict resolution, and mediation.
- Familiarity with community resources for women and children in asset
**Skills & Abilities**
- Strong interpersonal and conflict management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in high-pressure environments.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and organize varying work components.
- Ability to track, report, and document client files in a professional setting.
- Ability to facilitate in group settings, with internal clients and community partners.
- Ability to deliver service in a non-judgemental, respectful, client-centred, trauma-informed manner.
- Ability to deal with traumatic information including stories of emotional, physical, and sexual abuse.
- Ability to develop and nurture relationships across various cultures, respecting diverse protocols, beliefs, and traditions.
**Other Requirements**
- First Aid Certificate.
- Successful Criminal Record Check.
