**About the Role**
The Program Manager, Somenos Transition House oversees the Somenos Transition House Program and provides leadership, support, and supervision to the Somenos Transition House staff. The Program Manager, Somenos Transition House, ensures service obligations are met and supports CWAV's vision, mission, and values. The Program Manager, Somenos Transition House, ensures high-quality client services and aligns all practices with trauma-informed best practices. This position supervises Somenos Transition House staff. The Program Manager leads by aligning CWAVS' values with innovative strategies, advancing the mission, ensuring cohesive messaging, and driving community engagement.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Supervising all Somenos House staff while providing leadership to ensure that
programs and services for clients are trauma-informed and designed to support
and empower them along their unique healing journeys.
Cowichan Women Against Violence Society
- Leading in a manner that reflects feminist principles, including empowerment and
representation, equality, equity, intersectionality, transparency and upholding
confidentiality.
- Promoting and participating in community and awareness while partnering with
other agencies and community stakeholders.
- Ensuring compliance with all funder agreements and contracts.
- Assist in program budgeting and lead budget implementation to align services
with client needs.
- Providing leadership concerning the creation and implementation of
programming for clients.
- Actively participating in CWAV’s leadership team while aligning goals and practices
with the mission, vision and values of the Society.
- Provide On-call support to staff for immediate program concerns.
**What You Bring**
**Essential Qualifications**:
- At least 5 years of experience working in a non-profit setting, particularly with proven
success in a shelter or transition house program.
- Experience supporting marginalized communities, including Indigenous families and
children.
- Proven experience in promoting leadership practices that reflect feminist principles that
include the values of:
- Empowerment and representation
- Equality, equity, and collaborative decisive decision-making
- Respect for the necessary balance of transparency and confidentiality concerning
client care and access to information.
- Proven experience in implementing a complex operating budget, assisting with funding
procurement through the grant process and other means.
- Significant experience in conflict resolution and de-escalation and a strong understanding
of harm reduction, substance use, domestic violence, and mental health.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with clients and external
agencies.
- High level of integrity, ethics, and accountability in program management.
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check.
- Valid BC Driver’s License (Class 5 or 7) and clean driver’s abstract.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
**Preferred Assets**:
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Social Work, Social Services) or equivalent
experience is preferred.
- Experience working in a transition house setting.
