Payroll Coordinator

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Process bi-weekly payrolls for locations across Canada, including salary, hourly and commission employees.
- Provide day-to day management and oversight of efficient, accurate, and timely delivery of bi-weekly payroll processing, while ensuring operational and compliance commitments are met.
- Manage the payroll process in a fast-paced environment with multiple Collective Agreements and non-union employee groups in multiple provinces using Ceridian Dayforce
- Research issues and promptly resolve internal and external inquiries.
- Manage deliverables and performance of all payroll functions, including data inputs into payroll system, remittances of contributions, ROE submissions and verification of employment requests.
- Review and audit payroll batches before being committed in payroll system.
- Clarify changes and reconcile discrepancies related to employee payments and ensure the data integrity of remittance of benefit premiums.
- Ensure compliance with federal and provincial legislation and Collective Agreements
- Troubleshoot and investigate payroll related issues and errors, providing corrective action (as needed).
- Actively participate in projects and process improvement efforts where required.
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality relative to personal data, compensation data and employee benefits information contained in the Ceridian Dayforce system.
**Professional Experience/Qualifications**
- Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) Certification required.
- Experience working with Ceridian Dayforce strongly preferred.
- 2+ years of payroll experience processing a full cycle multi provincial payroll for 1000+ employees required.
- Must have experience with full cycle Canadian payroll.
- Strong understanding of Payroll and HR processes and best practices.
- Ability to work under strict deadlines; proven organizational, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Organized, efficient and a self-starter who can catch on quickly and is adaptable to change.
- Process-minded and always looking for ways to create efficiencies.
- Strong customer service orientation and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships and to converse in a professional manner and collaborate with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and possess initiative to seek improvements.
- Motivated self-starter with capabilities to work within a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
