Wei Wai Kum First Nation is seeking a dedicated, values-driven professional to serve as our next **Housing Manager**. **Wage: $25.35 - $36.75 per hour**
**Type**: Full-time, Permanent
**Hours**: 8:30am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday (35 hours)
**Location**: & Work Environment:This position is based at the Wei Wai Kum Administration Office in Campbell River, located on the beautiful unceded territory of the Ligʷiłdaxʷ people. Daily, in-person engagement is required to support team cohesion and community connection.
**Reports to**: Director of Lands & Development Services

**What You’ll Be Doing**

**Social Housing**
- Determine costs for new housing units.
- Maintain membership waitlists for Social and Rental Housing.
- Process rental agreements in line with policies and procedures.
- Monitor rent collection, address arrears, and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Conduct housing inspections and address complaints.
- Prepare and submit required reports to CMHC and ISC.

**Private Housing**
- Source contractor quotes and facilitate fair bidding processes.
- Monitor renovation progress, arrange inspections, and process contractor payments.
- Maintain and manage waitlists for housing lots.
- Ensure applicants meet financial requirements and adhere to construction timelines.

**Elders’ Housing**
- Prepare rental agreements and monitor rent collection.
- Oversee maintenance of Elders’ housing units and properties.
- Manage waitlists for Elders’ housing.
- Address complaints and ensure Elders’ housing is well-maintained and supported.

**Other Duties**
- Arrange house appraisals when requested by Council or Senior Management.
- Provide housing reports at Council meetings and community gatherings (e.g., AGM).
- Support Council Committees and assist with evictions as required.
- Maintain strong working relationships with CMHC, ISC, and the First Nations Housing Association.
- Ensure all reports are current to prevent funding interruptions.
- Enforce land laws as required by the Land Code.
- Provide clear communication and updates to community members.

**What You Bring**
- Post-secondary education in a related field (preferred).
- Strong communication skills, with knowledge of natural justice and mediation.
- Knowledge of contract law, housing policy, and land practices (valuation, appraisal, registry).
- Experience with ISC programs, construction, contract negotiations, and co-venture agreements.
- Proficient in MS Office; basic bookkeeping skills required.
- Valid driver’s license & a clear Criminal Record Check.
- Willingness to occasionally work evenings or weekends to meet community or program needs.
