The Role
The Front of House Manager is responsible for planning and organizing the operations of The Velocity Lounge & Driving Range in conjunction with the Food & Beverage Manager. This role will oversee the operations of the front of house. In order to succeed in this role, you will need excellent communication and leadership skills, adaptability, and a strong understanding of restaurant operations and management.

Your contributions to the team include
  • Responsible for monthly liquor, beer, and wine inventory counts and inputting new bar stock into inventory software.
  • Assist with liquor, beer, wine, and bar supply inventory ordering.
  • Assist with scheduling and receiving beverage deliveries, checking all deliveries contents to verify product quality and quantity.
  • Review work schedules and assign duties and tasks to all staff on and before shift.
  • Monitor staff performance, reporting back to food and beverage manager as needed.
  • Ensure effective communication by attending meetings as required. Holding staff meetings and posting on shared site on a regular basis to impart information.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all statutory regulations affecting restaurant health and safety and ensure that any safety hazards are identified and rectified.
  • Monitor beverage preparation methods, portion sizes, garnishing and presentation of beverage to ensure that it is prepared and presented in an acceptable manner to ensure guests satisfaction and follow protocol.
  • Supervise and participate in lounge and patio areas cleaning and organizing.
  • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards.
  • Ensure that tables and bays including place settings, table arrangements, and decorations are impeccable and set correctly each shift.
  • Handle any guest complaints regarding food quality and service as they arise.
  • Coordinate with guests regarding special functions, tournament and other events.
  • Supervise Food & Beverage Staff, which includes training, coaching and evaluating work performance.
  • Increase staff's daily productivity.
  • Assist with maintaining records of stock lists, repairs, sales and wastage.

A few things we are looking for in a new team member:
  • 3+ years experience in a Food and Beverage management capacity.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer applications, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, inventory control and POS systems.
  • Serving It Right certificate required.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Ability to foster effective working relationships with peers, subordinates, guests, government officials and other external contacts.
  • Ability to function independently and under pressure and ability to manage various projects at the same time.
  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical and administrative skills.
  • Superior telephone manners and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Good financial and business awareness.
  • Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and its executive team.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • First Aid skills and/or certificates are considered assets.
  • Food Safe training an asset.
