JOB SUMMARY**:The Assistant Program Coordinator (APC) will provide daily support for household operations and case management.

**_
DUTIES_**:_Assistant Program Coordinator duties include the following_**:
- _ Overseeing daily house Operations_
- _ Identifying maintenance issues and concerns._
- _ Ensuring home and yard cleanliness._
- _ Leading case planning and management for clients in the program._
- _ Providing risk relapse prevention programming._
- _ Support program staff._
- _ Modeling, encouraging, and promoting independent problem solving and decision-making skills._
- _ Adhering to policies and procedures laid out in the Program Service Manual._
- _ Complete reporting and administrative tasks._
- _ Perform other duties as assigned/needed._
- _ Maintain confidentiality._

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES**:

- _ Working knowledge of the Mission, Vision and Values of the John Howard Society of Saskatchewan._
- _ Working knowledge of the characteristics of disadvantaged persons._
- _ Working knowledge of Restorative Justice and Harm Reduction practices._
- _ Understanding and commitment to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action._
- _ Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills._
- _ Exceptional writing and case management skills._
- _ Strong verbal skills and the ability to communicate professionally._
- _ Resourceful, flexible, and well organized._
- _ Professional, responsive, and a positive work attitude._
- _ Ability to make sound, timely, and accurate judgment while navigating crisis._
- _ Ability to work independently._
- _ Must maintain a positive relationship with clients, other staff, businesses, and government agencies._
- _ Demonstrate empathy for those impacted by the Criminal Justice System._

**QUALIFICATIONS: A combination of the following**:
**Education**:

- _ Secondary education from Saskatchewan Polytechnic or Community Colleges, or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 1 year of practical experience._

**_ Practical Experience:_**
- Working knowledge and experience with individuals impacted by socio-economic issues, including: homelessness, trauma, addiction, mental health, poverty, and the child welfare system.
- Working with a range of diverse clients, indiscriminate of: age, gender, sexual orientation, abilities, socio-economic status, religious preference, etc.

**Other**:

- _ First Aid, ASIST, Non-violent Crisis Intervention, Food Safe would be considered an asset._
- _ Valid / Insurable Saskatchewan Driver’s License, insurable to drive clients in JHSS-owned vehicles._
- _ Cleared Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check, completed three (3) months prior to start date._

**Capability**:

- _ Computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)_
- _ Requires flexibility and should be able to work varying shifts_
