Community Programming Coordinator

Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director of Community Programs, the Community Programming Coordinator is responsible for developing and strengthening relationships with educational institutions, community organizations, and partner stakeholders to expand opportunities for youth in our community. The individual in this role supports and coordinates THRIVE, Healix, Power of Being a girl, and education programs while also bringing in new programming opportunities that addresses youth identified needs and service gaps in our community. The Community Programming Coordinator will focus on establishing connections with schools, mental health professionals, and other youth support organizations so youth can more easily access educational resources and opportunities. They will creatively expand the program's reach by forging new partnerships and increasing visibility of programming in the community. The role requires a proactive, entrepreneurial approach to developing youth-focused educational initiatives while maintaining alignment with the YWCA Regina’s mission and values. The position may evolve based on community needs and program growth, and it may include additional projects as assigned.
**Responsibilities**:
- Engage with value-aligned organizations, schools, and community members to ensure that youth who are disengaged or hard to reach have access to programming & services through the YWCA.
- Collaborate with the Community Programs and Hub staff to ensure a holistic approach to service delivery.
- Facilitate programming for community members of all ages and abilities.
- Track outcomes for youth accessing advocacy services, ensuring data is recorded for reporting and program evaluation.
- Recruiting, screening, training, and managing volunteers, mentors, and guest facilitators.
- Attending relevant training and community events to promote program excellence and awareness.
- Performing needs assessments and research to inform program development.
- Assist in the hiring and overseeing of facilitators for specialized camps & programs
- Working directly with youth and mental health professionals to facilitate in school programming (Healix)
- Working directly with youth and Speech and Language Pathologists to facilitate summer programming (Thrive)
- Working directly with youth and facilitators to run summer teen programming (Power of Being a Girl)
- Flexibility to work within an ever-changing environment and the ability to pick up tasks and responsibilities as required by the greater Community Programs work group.
**Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary education in justice studies, law, social work, or related field.
- Experience working with youth involved in the justice system or facing systemic barriers.
- Strong communication, advocacy, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to provide integrated support.
- Familiarity with Indigenous cultures and the impacts of colonialism on justice and social systems.
- Evening and weekend availability.
- Strong case management and counselling skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and crisis intervention skills.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and First Aid/CPR certification.

Pay: $46,605.00-$47,770.13 per year
