The Machine Operator is responsible for the process of CNC automated or Robotic Plasma cutting of pipe or plate related to the manufacturing of screw piles. This role requires the use of a crane in a safe manner and hoisting and rigging knowledge is necessary. The Machine Operator must have an in-depth knowledge of automated machine cutting and robotic programming and troubleshooting. This role requires that the operator understands the requirements of work orders and traceability process needs.

**Location**: Ponoka, AB

**Shift Hours**: Weekend shift Friday to Sunday 6:30 am to 6:30 pm

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Has a clear understanding of set-up techniques
- Utilizes cranes and proper rigging techniques for removal of waste material and set up of head stock cutting
- Understands traceability requirements of specific work orders
- Reads and interprets work orders and produce to specifications, work from drawings and specifications
- Applies required procedural markings to the product (ie. traceability labelling)
- Operates cutting machines and robots for the purpose of cutting steel pipe and plate
- Collaborates with coworkers (labourers and operators) to perform safe and efficient set-up (including adjustments) of work station, tools, equipment and raw materials
- Provides appropriate maintenance to equipment as per preventative maintenance program
- Meets agreed upon goals and objectives in a timely manner
- Reads real time production data and meet productivity targets
- Responsible to create Programs for all Machines and provide the most accurate Version of each Program
- Ensure Programs are made before Work orders are released for Production

**EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE**

The following are required:

- High School Diploma
- Experience in a fabrication or industrial setting
- Knowledge of industry-related manufacturing processes
- Experienced in operating grinders, pedestal grinder, clamps and various fixtures
- Knowledge of Programming Software

**Work Environment**:

- Manufacturing environment
- Exposure to loud noises
- Exposure to extreme temperatures
- Physical elements include bending, twisting, crouching, kneeling, standing for long periods of time, lifting weights up to 50 pounds frequently and in excess of 50 pounds occasionally
- Fast paced with tight deadlines
- Shift work
- Overtime is required to meet operational needs.
- Work schedule may vary
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: From $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
