Morskate Manufacturing is actively recruiting motivated **Full-Time Shop Labourer **to join our dynamic team of professionals**. **This is an _ENTRY LEVEL _position with inhouse training reporting to the Shop Supervisor, you will be responsible for assisting various teams throughout the shop including the shot blast, drill press, iron worker, etc. to assist with our structural steel manufacturing. **Reports to**: Shop Supervisor

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain excellent attendance record
- Interpret drawings and sketches to determine measurements
- Setting up basic fabrication
- Accurate use of square, levels, angle finder and other measuring tools related to specific area (in both Metric & Imperial)
- Operate basic hand tools i.e. drills, grinders, etc.
- Operate shop equipment i.e. shot blast, drill press, ironworker, punch, shear, brake, blasting machine, saw, etc. as trained to do so
- Safe operation of overhead crane and mobile equipment for material movement
- Maintain and service machines as required
- Perform housekeeping duties as required

**Requirements/Qualifications**
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, sketches, procedures and practices
- Knowledge of materials and basic understanding of metals
- Skilled with numbers regarding accurate measurements, checking drawings, counting parts and calculating weights
- Must be physically fit, able to lift 50 lbs, and be on feet for long periods of time
- Able to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to speak, read, write and understand English clearly
- Possess problem solving skills
- Must have hand tools, list will be supplied
- Valid drivers license
- Must be willing to work overtime and on occasion Saturdays
- Local or willing to relocate

**Salary**: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed
