Goal of this position:
To ensure the smooth functioning of daily workflows to process, track, and record payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

- Preparation of accounts payable invoices, ensuring appropriate approvals have been obtained in accordance with internal policies and matching to purchase orders
- Responsible for correct vendor account information and verification
- Follows up and investigates discrepancies when invoices do not match
- Selects and maintains appropriate approval workflows
- Maintains employee expense reimbursement process
- Reconciliation of vendor statements and resolution of differences
- Preparation of weekly payment proposals and payment initiation
- Prepares and records month-end accrual entries and reconciliations
- Reconciliation of monthly corporate credit card statements to receipts
- Maintain data integrity through accurate coding of invoices
- Ongoing maintenance of open and uncleared payments
- In addition to the duties listed, the position may require extraordinary and additional tasks during the course of the business year.

Skills and qualifications:

- Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in accounts payable
- Successful completion of post-secondary diploma or equivalent experience preferred
- Understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping
- Proficient in working within a digital environment
- Position demands the highest standard of accuracy and attention to detail
- Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and prioritization
- Able to work with deadlines around month-end close
- Moderate to advanced Excel skills
- Experience with SAP is an asset
