**Primary Purpose of Position**

The Manager of Field Operations is responsible for leading, optimizing, and sustaining safe, reliable, and cost-effective field operations across Alberta. This role ensures Sinopec Canada achieves its production, OPEX, safety, and compliance objectives while fostering a strong culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Reporting directly to the EVP, Operations, this position is the key liaison between Calgary Head Office and the field. Travel to the field is expected regularly, approximately 3-5 days per month.

This position can be based in either Calgray or Grande Prairie office.

**Roles and Responsibilities**

**Leadership & Culture**
- Set a clear vision and inspire field teams to deliver on production and safety commitments.
- Model strong leadership presence in the field, ensuring consistent engagement with staff at all levels.
- Build and reinforce a culture of safety, integrity, accountability, and collaboration.
- Lead workforce and succession planning for field and maintenance teams to ensure talent pipelines are robust and future-ready.
- Develop competency training programs and tracking systems to elevate skills and ensure compliance.
- Promote open communication, employee engagement, and alignment between corporate and field staff.
- Support positive community and stakeholder relations, working with Public Relations to enhance Sinopec’s reputation in local communities.

**Field Operations Management**:

- Provide overall leadership and direction for field production operations, including production optimization, OPEX management, staffing, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee reporting of production volumes (FDC), OPEX tracking, and partner with Production Engineering to drive operational excellence.
- Ensure all field operations meet or exceed HSE goals and performance targets.
- Champion the development, training, and enforcement of field safety and environmental programs.
- Act as primary liaison with regulatory bodies (AER, ABSA, OHS) and ensure compliance with all government requirements.
- Responsible for ensuring Asset Integrity programs and initiatives are followed including all pipeline and facility maitenance & corrosion programs.
- Collaborate with facility engineers to evaluate design effectiveness and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Research and implement innovative technologies to optimize production, reduce costs, and maximize resource utilization.
- Align with Supply Chain Management on vendor selection, contract management, and supplier performance optimization.
- Develop and maintain SOPs and SSOPs in partnership with superintendents.

**Field Maintenance Leadership**:

- Provide leadership to the field maintenance team including Maintenance Foreman, E&I technicians, mechanics, and other trades.
- Ensure maintenance programs are proactive, cost-effective, and aligned with asset integrity standards.
- Establish KPIs and performance tracking systems to measure maintenance effectiveness.
- Drive continuous improvement in maintenance practices, including predictive and preventative maintenance strategies.
- Foster close collaboration between field maintenance team and operations teams to ensure equipment reliability and operational continuity.

**Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience**:

- Strong background in sour gas operations, field and plant management, and community/landowner engagement.
- Proven ability to influence and shape workplace culture, prioritizing safety and building highly effective teams.
- Technical background in Petroleum Technology or Power Engineering.
- Demonstrated success in leading multi-disciplinary teams, delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams) and familiarity with industry systems such as PVR and SCADA.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and implement improvements effectively.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in maintenance leadership, asset integrity management, and regulatory compliance programs.

**Position Knowledge, Skills, and Experience**
- Post-secondary education in Petroleum Technology and / or Power Engineering is preferred but not required.
- 15+ years of oilfield experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role overseeing field production operations.
