- **JOB TITLE**: Field Operations Coordinator

**JOB OBJECTIVE**:To be a proven leader, who leads by example in overseeing the duties of the drivers and who is “hands on” in problem solving the daily challenges that arise with our drivers. A leader that is an excellent “face” of OC Transport to our current and future customers. A leader who continually looks for the positive, who establishes routine and structure, who maintains excellent customer service in a safe and a timely manner and who can hold our drivers accountable while also being held accountable to the leadership team.

**SCOPE**:This is a hands on, in the field, leadership role which entails liaising between the drivers and management.

- **JOB DESCRIPTION FOR THE FIELD COORDINATOR**:

- Lead by example in the behaviours, culture and driving expectations for all Transport drivers.
- A leader that is organized, self-directed and takes initiative in day to day operations while working in a fast paced working environment.
- To work alongside the Operations Manager and bring continuity to the Leadership Team.
- To be the Liaison between the Drivers and Management.
- To understand the Job Description for Transport Drivers. To assist our drivers to understand their Job Description and the driver expectations at OC Transport.
- Be the point of contact for issues that arise and be a support to our drivers in the field.
- To demonstrate leadership by working alongside our drivers and be willing to train and mentor these drivers to increase in knowledge and improve in their skills.
- To do spot checks on the trucks for any issues with cleanliness, maintenance and safety.
- Ensure a proper tool inventory on each truck.
- Ensure a proper inventory of straps, chains and rigging on each truck.
- Assist in hiring of new drivers and their ongoing onboarding process and training checklists.
- Assist in employee reviews
- Come to management with any driver concerns that need to be addressed.
- Co-Lead a weekly Transport Driver meeting with the Operations Manager.
- Keep the CRM and all necessary data entered.
- Attend weekly Transport Management Meeting.
- Look for ways to make improvements at OC Transport and its efficiencies and report this information to management.
- Assist in overseeing the maintenance program. Help with the scheduling of maintenance and assist in sorting mechanical problems that arise.
- Assist the team in Transport as needed.
- Class 1 or Class 3 drivers an asset and preference will be given to those who apply.
