**The opportunity**:
**The qualifications and experience we’re looking for**:

- A Business Administration Degree or equivalent, specializing in General Management, Finance, Accounting or a related field is required.
- Systems training in computerized financial records environment would be an asset.
- Supervisory Management Training is desired.
- A sound understanding of accounting principles, practices and financial controls.
- Two years of directly related administrative experience in an accounting related environment is required.
- Experience using a complex, integrated computer and information system for data reporting is required.
- Experience in the supervision of staff and or departmental operations is required.
- Experience working in a customer focused environment is required.
- Previous experience working in a major financial system, such as Banner Finance and familiarity with the University of Manitoba environment and culture preferred.
- Knowledge of the Concur online booking tools and expense management tool will be considered an asset.
- Experience working with financial controls, compliance and the interpretation and implementation of policy is considered an asset.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Must be skilled in the use of a personal computer and desktop software Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills is required.
- Must have the ability to multitask and to meet strict deadlines is required.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment is required.
- The ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and public in a diplomatic, firm but tactful manner, maintaining good relations with other University departments is required.
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service is required.
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality is required.
- Good knowledge of university policy and procedures would be an asset.
