**The opportunity**:
The University of Manitoba is looking for a Travel & Expense System Analyst. This position will be responsible for ensuring the On-Line Booking Tool (OBT) and Expense Management Tool (EMT), Concur, is functional and fully utilized by University travellers.
A key component to this position is continually ensuring that efficient and effective financial controls are in place with the OBT/EMT and are being monitored. Additionally, the Travel & Expense System Analyst will develop, maintain and disseminate reports on the effectiveness of these controls, as well as on expenses, informational trends and patterns, travel statistics and key performance indicators.
**The qualifications and experience we’re looking for**:
- A Business Administration Degree or equivalent, specializing in General Management, Finance, Accounting, IT Systems or a related field is required.
- A sound understanding of accounting principles, practices and financial controls is required.
- Systems training in computerized financial records environment would be an asset.
- Minimum one year of administrative experience in an accounting related environment required.
- Systems experience, where investigating system issues and analyzing systems was the primary focus is required.
- Experience working in a complex, integrated computer and information system environment and a working knowledge of computer produced data is required.
- Experience working in a customer focused environment required.
- Experience providing policy and system-related training to others is required.
- Experience interpreting policy is required.
- Previous experience administering a major financial system, such as Banner Finance and familiarity with the University of Manitoba environment and culture preferred.
- Knowledge of the Concur on-line booking tools and expense management tool will be considered an asset.
- Experience working with financial controls or compliance is an asset.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Must be skilled in the use of a personal computer and desktop software Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills required.
- Must have the ability to multi task and to meet strict deadlines. Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment.
- The ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and public in a diplomatic, firm but tactful manner, maintaining good relations with other University departments is required.
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service is required.
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
