Training Specialist

Field Law has an opening for a Training Specialist to join our Training + Change Leadership Team. This temporary (12-18 months) position will be based out of the Calgary office.
The Training Specialist's role is to develop and deliver training programs to all four (4) Field Law offices (Calgary, Canmore, Edmonton, and Yellowknife). This position requires a person who is interested in the end-user and takes ownership of Fielders' ability to use technology effectively in their daily activities. On-going interaction and communication with the end-user community is necessary to determine appropriate training needs, establish a rapport, and gauge the satisfaction of our programs.
Duties + Responsibilities
Use standard procedures to coordinate the logistics of learning sessions: publish classes, schedule/reschedule students, reserve training facilities and maintain course content and evaluations.
Assess the needs of learners to recommend learning plans through the analysis of necessary technical competencies compared to existing skills sets.
Develop proficient working knowledge in firm-standard software, including new products and product upgrades as introduced, as well as related policies, procedures, and best practices.
Consult with Fielders to identify technology challenges, understand workflow and make recommendations on best use of technology to meet their needs.
Research best practices, advancements, and trends in adult education to identify opportunities for incorporating them in the training program.
Update and maintain training and user documentation in line with Field policies and procedures.
Provide feedback to managers and supervisors regarding trainees' performance and development and make recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications + Skills
3+ years of experience in adult education, developing and delivering effective training materials and user documentation
3+ years of related instructional design and training roles
Excellent problem-solving skills and enthusiasm to help Fielders improve the effectiveness of their use of firm standard software
A strong passion for continuous process improvement and innovation.
The ability to work in a highly collaborative, transparent, and team-focused environment.
Strong analytical skills to understand, document, and communicate complex processes.
A foundational understanding of technology and how technology can be used for automation, collaboration, and improvements in efficiency.
Working Conditions
Normal weekday office hours (35 per week).
Hybrid work arrangements are currently available.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
