VIVRS is looking for a dedicated, client focused Specialized Employment Coordinator to join our team. This position offers flexibility with a hybrid work option. You can be located anywhere from Nanaimo to the Comox Valley but must be willing to travel to the office in Courtenay at least once a week.

This is a full time position with competitive pay and benefits after three months. We offer a generous time off policy including three weeks of vacation and Wellness days. This position will be paid at $27/hour.

**Skills Towards Employment & Job Development Coordinator**

VIVRS Skills Toward Employment (STE) and Job Development (JD) Coordinator will be devoted to serve persons with diverse abilities who are looking to prepare for job search and subsequently obtain sustainable employment. VIVRS STE services that range from Pre-Employment, Skills Training and Job Development, aim to eliminate some of the barriers people with disabilities encounter when accessing the labour market. STE programs include pre-employment services and supports; workplace essential training and/or occupational skills training; unpaid work experience or job placement; as well as additional pre
- employment supports such as, counselling, specialized assessments, mental health support, disability supports, childcare and transportation supports and temporary financial relief. These program streams are funded by the Ministry of Advance Education and Skills Training.

**Role Responsibilities**

**Job Development**
- Arranges Work Experience placements for clients for the purpose of assessing Client’s readiness or to provide an opportunity for Client to increase job readiness;
- Negotiates employment opportunities for Clients including arranging accommodations or carving new jobs; negotiate duties, salary, conditions of employment according to Client needs;
- Provides necessary supports for Clients to be successful during placements in the form of onsite support or Financial supports as needed;
- Provides onsite support in the form of job coaching to ensure Client is supported to learn and perform all the duties of the job independently;
- Develops relationships with employers and other community stakeholders

**Pre-Employment Supports and Community Connections**
- Possess experience and maintains best practices for supporting individuals who multi-barriered and survivors of violence or abuse regardless of gender
- Performs intake sessions and develops individualized Training Plans
- Assess pre-employment needs thoroughly and facilitates community connections
- Works collaboratively with Clinical Personal Counsellor who specializes in survivors of domestic violence to assess mental health needs and supports
- Facilitates cultural connections, connections to community services such as family and victim services, childcare services, food access, etc.
- Assess financial needs and provides financial supports
- Coordinates essential skills training
- Refers clients to other employment programs upon PES completion
- Documents Client progress with a high-level of accuracy to comply with contract needs
- Tracks and complies with program targets and projections i.e. Progress Markers
- Provides program reports to Management

**Workplace Essential Skills and Occupational Skills Training**
- Delivers workplace essential skills training and life skills training
- Delivers training in the form of modules including: budget management (accessing Recovery benefits); self-determination; workplace essential skills training on, writing/communication in the workplace, and reading/document use for the workplace
- Carries out essential skills assessments, including standardized CAMERA (Communications and Math for Employment Readiness Assessment) and/or career assessment
- Assists with occupational exploration for those suitable to access Occupational Skills Training
- Facilitates access to Occupational Skills Training

**Skills and Qualifications**
- Post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate in relevant field (e.g. career development, vocational rehabilitation, social work, human services, education, human resources, counselling, marketing, etc.)
- Previous experience working with specified specialized population
- Knowledge of Labour Market and local trends
- Working towards or holding professional designation such as CCDP, RRP, etc.
- Excellent computer skills

**Other Requirements**
- Criminal Record Check (vulnerable populations)
- Driver’s license and own transportation
- Working flexible hours will be required

**Salary**: $49,140.00 per year
