**Role Summary**
Instrumental in establishing the foundation for the Sustainable Employment outcomes of youth clients (under 30), the Youth Employment Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for providing both virtual and in-person WorkBC Assessments and Case Management for youth clients interested in Case Managed Services. This key role will have a depth of knowledge and experience in both Assessment and WorkBC products and services as it relates to the Youth Client Inclusion group, and allows for the development and maintenance of an ongoing and meaningful rapport with Clients throughout their successful participation in the WorkBC Employment Services program.
The Youth Employment Outreach Coordinator works collaboratively with the WorkBC Centre team, and is responsible for creatively and meaningfully engaging with youth clients both 1:1 and in group settings, utilizing the 3 service delivery channels, in order to increase the consistent and ongoing awareness of employment services offered in the community that are focused on and available to youth. In doing so, this individual will effectively work to remove the barriers that prevent youth from accessing the services of the WorkBC Employment Services Program, thus supporting the increase in youth referrals to WorkBC. The individual within this position will act as a bridge between youth accessing community services and entering into WorkBC Employment services, and in conjunction with the appropriate members of the WorkBC Employment Services team, provide the tools and support necessary for youth clients to navigate a successful entry into the workforce and sustainment therein.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Outreach & Engagement**
Responsible for effectively connecting with all relevant stakeholder groups in order to engage, educate and promote the WorkBC Employment services that would be of interest and value to a diverse range of potential youth clients, by:
- Creating organized, concise and complete content, printed material and handouts that will become part of presentations and host information tables offered in various public venues, schools and community agencies in order to effectively promote WorkBC employment services; adjusting materials to ensure continued relevance amidst changes in labour market and client population trends, while ensuring adherence to the WorkBC marketing materials guidelines.
- Collaborating with organizations delivering youth employment and outreach services on an ongoing and consistent basis.
- Assisting and supporting Youth Clients by delivering a diverse array of individualized and group presentations that invite youth into a wide variety of employment-focused services based on individual need and circumstances.
- Based on effective networking and research, collecting labour market information for Clients regarding job openings, entry and skill requirements and other occupational information.
- Developing and maintaining collaborative and ongoing relationships and referral resource networks with all community agencies.
- Regularly attending networking events and consistently representing MCES and the WorkBC Employment Services Program on community committees focused on youth and youth employment.
- Effectively and appropriately liaising with various members of the MCES team, other WorkBC Centres, Ministry and other government departments, service delivery and community partners and community agencies on behalf and in support of the success of Client participants.
- Participating in and planning where appropriate, WorkBC Centre, outreach and virtual activities to consistently increase Client engagement and participation.
- Providing innovative and ongoing orientation/information sessions regarding job search and sustainment tools and strategies, and general employability skills; consistently creating and maintaining a meaningful, healthy and productive learning environment for all youth
**Client Assessments**
Supporting a meaningful experience, and the long-term ‘buy-in’ of the Client’s participation in the WorkBC Employment Services program, responsible for providing general consultation and conducting assessments for Case Managed Services that ensure the appropriate service referrals are made, by:
- Conducting Client Needs Assessments to determine individual Client needs and match them to the appropriate suite of services and financial supports
- Creating mutually agreed upon Action Plans and subsequent revisions as required in support of the long-term employment and retention success of the Client
- Assessing and documenting a Client’s financial need, and signing the appropriate documentation as required according to MCES/WorkBC Employment Services Program policy
