**SCOPE**

Reporting to The Director, Safety and Shared Resources, the primary responsibility of the Workforce Coordinator is to facilitate relationships with employees and unions with the aim of building a positive, safe and engaged work environment. This position will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and managing workforce scheduling activities. This role will require a committed self-starter who thrives in a changing and fast paced environment.

Western IntermodeX is a group of logistics companies that connects cargo owners with access to reliable, innovative and market leading transportation services. With over 50 acres, 500,000 sqft of warehouse space and more than 150 assets across its two businesses (Coast 2000 Terminals and Interhold Distribution), Western IntermodeX facilitates domestic and global trade through rail, water, truck and container modes.

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES**
- Undertaking the daily scheduling of labor to meet operational requirements while adhering to the Union Collective Bargaining Agreements.
- Validating workforce
- Tracking, analyzing, and forecasting scheduling trends.
- Acting as a central point of contact for the day-of Supervisors to communicate resource requirements to
- Providing supervisors with support related to staffing systems and annual bid vacation processes.
- Responding to and actioning leaves, sick calls, no shows.
- Liaising with Operational leaders for each business unit communicating scheduling progress, challenges and outcomes.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**:

- 3-5 years’ experience working in a unionized environment and interpreting collective bargaining agreements
- 2-3 years’ experience with workforce management (scheduling, dispatch, placement operations)
- Comfortable in a fast-paced organization and capacity to manage through ambiguity and change
- Excellent skills and attention to detail, able to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously while delivering on commitments
- Intermediate user of Microsoft 365 suite of products
- Strong communicator: able to communicate effectively with clients and coworkers.
- Effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Able to perform shift work in a busy environment
- Able to problem-solving and deliver solutions

**WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL / SENSORY REQUIREMENTS**

This position will require a regular presence in all the Western IntermodeX facilities, including warehouses, container yards, storage yards and other terminal locations.
