**Specific Job Description**
- Act as Lockheed Martin lead for ORO training support, including remaining current on RCN, North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and Allied warfare, tactics, and doctrine updates through research and consistent liaison with RCN tactical authorities
- Recommend operational insertions that will make the Synthetic Environment Advanced Combat Operator Trainer (SEACOT)/Synthetic Environment Advanced Warfare Operations and Leadership Facility (SEAWOLF) classrooms more effective for their intended purpose, including recommending changes to CMS operational and support software. This includes providing advice and staff support to CCA on prioritizing CMS software and systems changes
- Liaise with Lockheed Martin Canada’s on-site Configuration Management (CM) and Data Management (DM) as required
- Conduct tours and provide demonstrations of the SEACOT/SEAWOLF as tasked by DND
- Support a flexible work schedule, including travel, overtime, shiftwork, with the understanding that this is an onsite position
- Work with minimum supervision and follow common company processes.
**Required skills, qualifications and experience**
- Work independently within DND and NFS (A) by providing operational support for the ORO Course Officer, CCA, Fleet Schools, NTTTS, in supporting broad based contractor support to the Naval Training System, primarily through the use of the SEACOT and the SEAWOLF training simulators, and follow on trainers and projects
- Support instructors by determining how to incorporate SEACOT/SEAWOLF into lesson plans/courseware and how to conduct operational scenarios to support training. This includes conducting training scenarios in command roles of mission-based scenarios. As a Technical Trainer, you will liaise between DND and Lockheed Martin staff to report defects and areas for enhancement. The Lockheed Martin staff with which you will liaise consists of Halifax-based software developers and support services
- Support instructors by providing consistent year to year scheduling, liaison and administrative support
- Add value to the Lockheed Martin new business capture and product improvement by providing Command Management System 330 (CMS 330), trainer and related naval domain SME to naval programs and product improvement initiatives.
**Additional skills desired for the role**
- Degree, or Diploma from a recognized school or military/civilian technical training with 8-12 years of professional military experience
- RCN ORO qualified and experienced, or equivalent qualification
- Recent experience and demonstrated capacity to perform in the roles of conducting and coordinating Operations (OPS) Room procedures, and performing any of the Warfare Commander roles (e.g. ORO qualification)
- Recent experience with operational planning and scheduling is necessary
- Recent experience with Voice Comms and Naval tactics is necessary
- Recent experience or demonstrated capacity to lead teams of SMEs in complex problem solving, planning, scenario / training development activities
- Capable of holding a NATO SECRET security clearance, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Controlled Goods (CG) certifications
- Knowledge of CMS 330 and associated trainers
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Recent experience or demonstrated capacity to instruct in a classroom environment is an asset
- Second language abilities (French, Spanish, Polish, Greek) are an asset.
