We’re on the hunt for an On-site Representative (OSR) for the Submarine Weapon Handling Discharge System (WHDS) Trainer in our Geointelligence Engineering Team based in Halifax NS.

Our mission is to turn data into insight. From detecting changes in fragile ecosystems to monitoring northern ice floes and shipping routes, our near-real time data of Earth observation and the environment makes our Geointelligence team a leader in geospatial imagery, ground stations, enterprise geospatial systems and defence programs.

As a member of the Engineering team you will work on our programs such as Chorus Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Satellite, Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC), Square Kilometer Array (SKA) radio telescope, Aeronautical Navigation products, and Marine Insights products. You will work as part of a technical team to develop new capabilities, enhance existing capabilities and deliver solutions to our customers.

As part of your growth and development we will work with you to establish your development actions alongside regular progress reviews. You are likely to move through various projects to gain the experience and knowledge to progress your career with us.

**Role**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Flash-up, daily readiness checks, and shutdown of equipment.
- Configuring and setting up for training.
- Physical operation of the equipment.
- Providing formal and informal training and instruction.
- Assisting with tours, briefings and demonstrations.
- Updating documentation (user manuals, configuration records, inventory lists, etc.).
- Investigating, documenting and communicating system malfunctions.
- Troubleshooting and resolution of system problems.
- Performing configuration management activities.
- Conducting preventative maintenance.
- Validating and maintaining maintenance plans.
- Monitoring and analyzing system performance.
- Tracking local spares, conducting audits of the trainer configuration and assisting DND audits.

**Required Experience**:

- Victoria Class Submarine Qualification.
- Proof of Secondary School Education or W Eng Tech QL5A Qualified.
- Minimum 1 year experience in the past 7 years in the following areas:

- Operation of real or simulated submarine weapon handling and discharge systems.
- Maintenance of real or simulated submarine weapon handling and discharge systems.
- Must be able to hold a SECRET security clearance, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP)
- Must work daily within Halifax DND facilities.
- Experience operating instructing, facilitating and performing maintenance activities on a complex training system.
- Operation of real or simulated submarine command and control systems and submarine tactical weapon systems.
- Maintenance of real or simulated submarine command and control systems and submarine tactical weapon systems.
- Experience in preparing training courses, training materials and instructing others.
- Experience with Configuration Management practices.
