The **Association of Early Childhood Educators of Alberta (AECEA)** is a non-profit, member-based society dedicated to transforming Alberta’s early learning and child care (ELCC) workforce into a recognized profession. We advocate for higher educational standards, fair compensation, and system-level support for the more than 29,000 certified early childhood educators (ECEs) across Alberta. Job Purpose
**Key Responsibilities**
**Marketing & Outreach Strategy**
- Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns to increase awareness, support, and membership.
- Implement outreach strategies to connect with underrepresented and rural ECE communities.
- Launch and manage a public awareness campaign to highlight the value and impact of the ELCC workforce and ELCC.
- Develop a non-partisan advocacy strategy informed by community engagement and member insights.
**Brand & Communications Management**
- Lead brand messaging across all platforms to ensure consistency, clarity, and alignment with AECEA’s mission and values.
- Collaborate with team members and board to co-create materials for initiatives, events, and campaigns.
- Oversee creation and distribution of promotional assets, including infographics, videos, and visual storytelling materials.
**Digital Engagement**
- Manage AECEA’s digital presence across web and social media, growing reach and engagement.
- Use analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, social insights) to evaluate and refine strategies.
- Monitor and respond to online interactions and support positive, inclusive community conversations.
- Develop Google Ad strategy.
**Event Promotion & Community Building**
- Coordinate marketing and promotion for AECEA-hosted events (conferences, webinars, workshops).
- Support event planning by preparing communications materials and outreach plans.
- Cultivate a vibrant online and offline member community, encouraging participation and feedback.
**Key Competencies**
- Strategic and creative thinking in marketing and communications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in content creation tools and digital platforms (e.g. Canva, Mosaico, Hootsuite)
- Strong understanding of social media trends and community engagement tactics
- Ability to develop culturally responsive messaging for diverse audiences
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while staying connected to the team’s workplan
- Strong teamwork mindset
**Preferred Qualifications**
**Required**
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or outreach roles
- Proficiency with digital tools, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace
- Strong commitment to our mission and vision
**Preferred**
- Experience with SEO, keyword research, and analytics platforms
- Knowledge of the ELCC sector or non-profit advocacy
- Familiarity with GBA+ and equity-focused communication strategies
- Bilingualism or multilingualism considered an asset
