PEF is hiring an Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper
Hours: 20-25 weekly

Schedule: Hybrid Work Model

Location: Pearson Educational Foundation - 1925 Brookdale Avenue, Dorval, H9P 2Y7

About the Organization:
Through a commitment to public education and the promotion of learning for all, the Pearson Educational Foundation (PEF) works diligently to ensure that every LPBSB student has the opportunity to become a life-long learner and a self-assured, respectful, and responsible individual. Recognizing that government funding of public education is finite, the Foundation supports students by supplying seed money for a broad array of innovative projects generated by teachers and administrators withing the LBPSB community. These include programs for special needs’ students to assist children’s integration into regular classrooms and allow them to maximize their potential. In addition, PEF supplies winter outerwear to economically disadvantaged students and funds for the LBPSB’s Hungry Kids Program, which provides breakfasts and hot lunches from K to Grade 11. PEF also manages many bursaries and scholarships that are awarded at convocation (high school) and collaborates on large-scale fundraisers with respective LBPSB schools.

Qualifications:

- Background in accounting
- Experience with MS outlook, Excel, Word, Adobe Pro, and desktop publishing software
- Familiarity with charitable platforms such as Canada Helps, Benevity, Square and PayPal
- Bilingual, both oral and written

Responsibilities include:
Customer Service
- Respond and follow up on communications promptly.
- Provide fund information to each school or centre administrator on a yearly basis.
- Create and manage PEF newsletter in collaboration with board members.

Office Tasks
- File and archive documents.
- Attend monthly board meeting and take minutes.

Bookkeeping
- Coordinate with respective individuals to obtain signatures for ATM deposits.
- Oversee PEF donations and process all transactions.
- Manage and reimburse all qualified expenses.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and provide monthly reports for PEF BOD meetings.
- Administer scholarships and award cheques (for LBPSB graduates)

Fundraising Management and Grant Administration
- Liaise with schools hosting events.
- Handle income and tax receipts for respective events.
- Share schools’ respective events on all PEF platforms.
- Collect and manage follow up reports.
- Document completed projects and include photos of each in office and PEF platforms.
- Collaborate with schools regarding available venues for fundraisers.
- Lead the Rona Cupak Fund (snowsuit program).heures: 20-25 par semaine

PEF gère également de nombreuses bourses d'études qui sont attribuées à l'obtention du diplôme (lycée) et collabore à des collectes de fonds à grande échelle avec les écoles respectives de la CSLBP.

Compétences
- Formation en comptabilité
- Expérience avec MS Outlook, Excel, Word, Adobe Pro et les logiciels de publication

- Bilingue

Les responsabilités incluent:
Service à la clientèle
