**About us** KG Pet Services is a small business in Vancouver, BC. We are professional, supportive, customer-centric and our goal is to provide professional and compassionate pet care to Vancouver pet owners. Our work environment includes: - Casual work attire - Flexible working hours - Lively atmosphere - KG Pet Services_ is looking to add to it's roster of talented independent contractors for the roles of dog walkers and pet sitters. Experienced individuals will get preference (maybe you currently are listed on Rover, or working part time at a dog daycare), but paid experience with dogs is not necessary if you tell me why your life experience is comparable. - KG Pet Services_ offers all kinds of options for pet owners: **Dog Walks** - both private and group, we work with everyone from puppy to senior, and social to fearful. Experience with reactive dogs is a big plus **Pet Sitting** - in-client home dog sitting for short stays or long, depending on your availability and willingness. **Cat visits** - once or twice daily cat visits doing a litter change, feeding, and playing. **Other pet visits** - we occasionally get requests for small animals like bunnies and guinea pigs, as well as reptiles like snakes and bearded dragons. You would not be assigned these unless you had prior experience with the species. **WHAT SETS YOU APART** - clean drivers license and reliable vehicle - experience with strong, reactive, or anxious dogs - >full availability at least 3 days a week (walks are usually between 9-4 so keeping that time open is key) - minimum 12 months commitment (we do understand that sometimes life happens, but we do expect an honest try to commit to the full year) **WHAT SETS US APART** - competitive wages - extensive training before working with reactive or anxious dogs, and before doing group walks - supportive team, ready to help with any problems and help you feel confident - we do all the work of finding and pairing clients with you, so you can focus on having fun with the dogs - the ability to accept or turn down any client without being judged by the team; not every person is a good fit with every dog and we would never want you in a situation you weren't comfortable in. **ABOUT THE JOB** - looking for multiple part time individuals to start. There may be an option to go full time down the road - most walks are between 9am and 4pm, so most of your evenings and weekends are free unless you want to do pet sitting - pay is per walk, but starts at the equivalent of $21/hour - you can expect to walk an average of 15kms a day - discount code to get pet first aid certified (it is valid for 3 years and so helpful) - our business insurance will cover you for liability on walks and while pet sitting (as long as you follow our insurance guidelines) so you don't need your own insurance to work with us **IF INTERESTED** Please send us your resume and a small informal cover letter explaining why you want this job or what experience with animals you have that might not be on your resume. **Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Fixed term contract Contract length: 12 months Part-time hours: 20 per week **Benefits**: - Casual dress - Flexible schedule Flexible Language Requirement: - French not required Schedule: - Monday to Friday - Weekend availability Ability to commute/relocate: - Vancouver, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) Work Location: One location
