**Job Description**:
- Position Summary:_
- The Compliance Coordinator works closely with all members of the Risk & Accreditation Team to support compliance with legislation, policies, accreditation, and risk management. _The Compliance Coordinator will assist with preparing documents, e.g., the legislative tracking document, for leaders, the Senior Leadership Team, and external organizations. _This is a regional role that will support our regional partners as needed._
- Education:_
- _College Diploma_
- _Continued education preferred_
- _Formal Training or Certificates relevant to position an asset (i.e. risk management certificates, completed workshops or curses in document management)._
- Experience:_
- _Min of three (3) years of relevant experience within a healthcare setting_
- _Detailed understanding of laws, regulations, and guidelines governing the field of Healthcare_
- _Understanding of policy management systems and processes_
- _Experience coordinating and providing education_
- _Medicolegal experience an asset_
- _Knowledge and experience in information privacy laws, legislation, Accreditation Canada standards, Best Practice Guidelines, risk management_
- Competencies:_

- _Ability to use conflict resolution tools and techniques_

- Other:_
- _Experience in MS Office, Excel, MS Publisher mandatory_

- _Must demonstrate proven workplace excellence through commitment to strong job performance and attendance_
- Responsibilities:_
- _Provides support to the Risk and Accreditation team that ensures the daily operations of the organization and partner sites are conducted in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures, safety guidelines, accreditation standards, regulations, and laws._
- _Coordinates educational strategies and curriculum related to Accreditation, Risk and Legislative changes._
- _Supports accreditation activities including preparing document, presentations, and activities to support Accreditation teams_
- _Ensures all relevant data is entered into Accreditation Canada portal in a timely manner._
- _Provides support for leaders and staff with policy approval/archival process_
- _Responsible for archiving of policies and maintaining appropriate records/dates of all policy related activities_
- _Assists with communication of applicable legislation and standards, and monitors advancements in information technologies to ensure continuous improvement and compliance_
- _Works closely with Policy & Legislation Consultant to ensure the organization is meeting compliance requirements. Escalating as necessary._
- _Supports the coordination of risk management activities including, Risk Assessment Checklists (RACs), Risk Assessments and liaising with organizational insurance providers, e.g. HIROC._
- _Ensures policies related to portfolio are kept up to date and sees them through the approval process._
