Reporting to the Manager/Team Lead, Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) Network Services; this position is primarily responsible for completing multiple business requests for new and existing projects, services and network infrastructure along with support of any implementations and/or incidents.
These implementations are normally medium to high in complexity and are often part of a larger program. They involve, planning configuring, implementing and supporting various network devices including, but limited to Cisco IOS, NEXUS, ACI, Meraki (SDWAN), Wifi (Cisco, Extreme), InfoBlox DDI, Application Delivery (LTM, GTM, ASM, APM, vCMP), Solarwinds, and DDOS solutions. Understanding of UC (Unified Communications), Automation toolsets and IaC (infrastructure as Code) are a benefit.
There is significant interaction required with our project managers who must be kept up to date on the status of our deliverables. As part of that responsibility the updating of documentation, management tools, and asset tracking is critical.
In addition, this position will also assist with guiding our more junior staff with their projects as well as developing and/or streamlining the processes and procedures that we use on a day to day basis.
The services provided by this team must be delivered in a reliable, timely and consistent manner as they are often a key component in larger initiatives that have tight timelines.
**Qualifications**
- Provide technical expertise and counsel to internal client by acting as a reference on technology, trends and processes related to own area
- Perform MACD’s for various network changes and initiatives
- Participate in Incident and Incident remediation as part of a 24x7 On-call rotation
- Participate in Lifecycle Management Activities. Patch and Upgrade Management.
- Coach/educate others within the team and other departments
- Contribute and or lead Knowledge Transfer (KT) sessions with the team
- Act as a resource that evolves into an SME in the exchange of technical information with project teams, the business and outside vendors
- Actively represent the group at meetings, change management TAB/CAB and on projects
- Monitor the capacity of the environment by using meaningful metrics and tools
- Ensure effective change and problem management discipline is used
- Ensure migrations and changes are executed without any service interruptions.
- Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise in infrastructure, analytical tools and techniques that can contribute to effective and efficient solution development/delivery
- Maintaining accurate documentation
- Keep current with industry and/or business trends
- Effectively leverage cloud and hybrid cloud technologies and platforms
- Communicate project status and provide timely escalation of issues to ensure project objectives are met
- Interact with clients to provide quality service/solutions consistent with objectives and client requirements
- Provide expertise and advice in the areas of analysis, implementation, testing and/or problem resolution
- Provide expertise in automation and orchestration of network deliverables.
- Ensure timely notification and escalation of possible issues/problems, options and recommendations for prompt resolution
- Work effectively as a team, supporting other members of the team in achieving project/business objectives and providing client services
**Other Requirements**
- Post-secondary education (degree or diploma) in a related field or related experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of Hands-on experience with **WIFI (Extreme, Cisco)**:
- Minimum 3-5 years working with enterprise level LAN/WAN technology
- Minimum 3-5 years of Hands-on experience with **Cisco **and Juniper **Platforms
- Minimum 3-5 years working with DNS, DHCP, IPAM, **InfoBlox, QIP**:
- Minimum 1-3 years working with Cisco Spine and Leaf and Cisco ACI
- Minimum 3-5 years working with Application Delivery, Load Balancing utilizing F5 product line
- Minimum 3-5 years working with BGP, OSPF routing protocols
- Minimum 3-5 years working with MPLS
- Minimum 3-5 years working with Multicast
- Minimum 1-3 years working with **SD-WAN**:
- Minimum 1-3 years working with Automation
- Working knowledge of Linux, BASH, SHELL Python scripting/coding
