**About the Position**:
Hazelview is seeking an Associate, Hazelview Ventures. The Associate will have direct responsibilities in operational duties including deal sourcing, evaluating potential investment opportunities, preparing investment memos for investment committee review, and working closely with other departments to help with strategic integration of portfolio companies.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist with the full process of deal execution, including sourcing new opportunities, conducting due diligence and deal closing
- Preparation of investment memos for investment committee review
- Responsible for weekly/bi-weekly meetings with portfolio companies and escalation of timely matters to manager
- Track key company deliverables and milestones
- Track and report industry news for the purposes of identifying trends, competitors of portfolio companies, and potential new investment opportunities
- Preparation of semi-annual fund updates, coordinating with marketing, investor relations and finance
- Attending networking events and conferences for the purpose of finding new investment opportunities and building relationships with potential co-investors
- Work with team members to validate strategic fit of potential portfolio companies
- Respond to inquiries and requests from other departments or escalate to manager on a timely basis
- Communications with external counsel and internal teams to coordinate deal closings
- Assist with monthly valuation of portfolio companies
- Assist in the preparation of new fund marketing materials
- Help in fundraising initiatives through the creation of pitch decks, and outreach to potential investors

**Job Requirements**:
**Education and Experience**:

- Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in investment banking, finance, venture capital, or a related field (previous Venture Capital experience is an asset)
- Solid understanding of basic venture capital fund and deal practices
- Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills
- Real-estate and/or other private market industry experience is considered an asset

**Qualifications**:

- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and escalate on a timely basis
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, to adapt quickly, prioritize and manage concurrent processes and reporting requirements
- Ability to deliver work independently, while working together as a team
- Have strong attention to detail and accuracy, organizational skills, and excellent problem-solving ability.
