***About the Position**:
Hazelview is currently seeking an Associate who will work as part of our Global Real Estate Securities team, primarily responsible for covering listed real estate companies in Asia. The primary function of this role is to research, underwrite and value new investment opportunities within the listed global real estate securities sector and provide formal investment recommendations to the portfolio management team. This person will conduct fundamental research and due diligence on markets and companies. Further, this person must have a passion for investing, understanding of the real estate business and basic economics and the poise and confidence to represent the firm in meetings with investors and senior management. This position will be located out of our Corporate Office in Toronto, Ontario for 6-12 months for training then they will relocate to Hong Kong permanently. Travel will be required to attend industry conferences and property tours. Since the members of Hazelview’s global real estate securities team are located throughout the world, this person must have an ability to be proactive and work independently in addition to being part of the team.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Conduct fundamental research and due diligence on companies and markets
- Produce investment recommendations
- Create and maintain valuation models and generate expected returns for investment universe
- Meet with senior, regional and local management
- Analyze and forecast investment and property markets
- Monitor and communicate a well-informed top-down view of property and capital market trends
- Maintain superior relationships with internal departments i.e., Business Development team - supplying internal request for information

***Job Requirements**:
**Education and Experience**:

- 1-3 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with specialization in Finance, Business and/or Real Estate
- MBA or CFA is considered an asset

**Qualifications**:

- A professional demeanor, coupled with strong communication skills both written and verbal and presentation skills
- Must be fluent in English. Ability to speak Mandarin, Cantonese and/or Japanese is preferred but not mandatory
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strategic thinking and decision-making skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Advanced computer skills in Excel, Argus, Word, Power Point, and BloombergDriven and self-motivated individual
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Willingness to learn, take on new challenges and grow in the role

**Experience**: Preferred
- Advanced computer skills in Excel, Argus, Word, Power Point, and BloombergDriven
- Ability to speak Mandarin, Cantonese and/or Japanese is preferred but not mandatory
- MBA an asset
- 1 - 3 years: Relevant experience
