**ABOUT THE COMMERCIAL DIVISION** The Commercial Division was created and launched in January 2019 as a new division of Hazelview Property Services. The portfolio consists of approx. of 500,000 sq. ft of office retail and industrial properties, spread across Hazelview’s entire portfolio of properties in different provinces. **Hazelview’s Commercial Vision**: Set a new, differentiated market standard in the tenant leasing and occupancy experience as well as commercial broker experience, ultimately creating a competitive advantage that optimizes financial performance for investors. **ABOUT THE POSITION** The Commercial Cleaner/Maintenance Associate reports directly to the Property Manager and Maintenance Manager and supports the operations of our commercial, industrial and retail complexes and contribute to the overall success of Hazelview Properties. This role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the properties they are assigned to by performing duties as outlined in a cleaning schedule. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES** - Ensure a superior level of co-operation, service and support is provided to - Ensure building cleaning standards are maintained to the highest level, including interiors (washrooms, hallways, stairwells, lobby, elevator) and exterior grounds cleaning (parking lots, walkways, landscaping areas) - Perform routine cleaning schedule or carry out tasks assigned by the Property Manager and Maintenance Manager - Comply with proper safety policies and procedures at all times (i.e. when using cleaning chemicals, operating machinery, reporting incidents, etc.) - Snow removal from sidewalks and associated salting - Support in responding to tenant requests and repair/maintenance issues - Availability after hours and on holidays/weekends in case of emergency - Demonstrate flexibility, as tasks may change based on building requirements - Perform other duties as required **JOB REQUIREMENTS** **Education and Experience**: - Completion of High School diploma, General Education Degree (GED) or equivalent - 1 - 3 years of commercial, office or industrial building cleaning - Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, drywall, carpentry and painting an asset - Proficient with use of basic handheld and electrical tools **Qualifications**: - A commitment to "Best in Class" Customer Service - A professional demeanor with strong communication skills - Ability to accurately listen, understand and respond to issues appropriately - Self-motivated individual who has a “can-do” attitude and “no task is too big or too small” attitude - Good organization and time management skills with the ability to multitask/prioritize and work under tight timelines - Good customer service skills. - Ability to work independently and autonomously as well as under pressire in emergency situations. - Must have a valid Ontario G license and access to a vehicle. - Actively championing diversity, equity and inclusion to create an environment of belonging - Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, plumbing and carpentry an asset. - Ability to speak other languages is considered an asset. **ABOUT THE COMPANY** **At Hazelview Properties we believe that apartments** **are more than bricks and mortar - they are an experience.** Started in 1999 with one small building in Oakville Ontario, we now manage a portfolio of over 200 multi-family residential buildings throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia.
