The Town of Hanover is recruiting a dynamic, service-oriented leader to join the Town of Hanover team in the position of Civic Facilities Maintenance Supervisor.

Reporting to the Director of Building & Planning, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Overseeing and coordinating the preventative and ongoing maintenance of the Civic Centre and other designated civic facilities, including electrical, heating, cooling, energy management, fire suppression, security systems and outdoor maintenance.
- Monitoring, evaluating and reporting on the status of civic facility maintenance programs and services, and making recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Recommending and coordinating service agreements, overseeing and liaising with contracted personnel and services in the execution of such agreements.
- Performing minor general maintenance for heating, cooling, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, completing minor building repairs, and occasionally performing custodial work.
- Implementing and maintaining the fire safety plan for the Civic Centre building, ensuring all requirements for drills, equipment inspections, and related expectations are adhered to.
- Interacting professionally and courteously with all levels of staff, government, contractors, consultants, tenants, community groups, volunteers, and the public.
- Monitoring applicable facility and tenant hours of operation, civic facility bookings, locum doctor apartment schedules, etc. to schedule staff and coordinate setup, takedown, security, and cleaning functions accordingly.
- Facilitating theatre processes, including coordinating directly with theatre staff and rental groups, monitoring theatre equipment, and performing and/or coordinating theatre-related maintenance.
- Performing administrative tasks including scheduling, safety data sheet administration, creating and updating maintenance plans, policies, procedures, and maintaining facility-related documentation.
- Leading, supervising, and coaching direct and indirect reports, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, professional development, and fostering a positive and productive working environment.
- Preparing the departmental operating and capital budgets, sourcing quotes for renovations and repairs for both the municipality and at the request of tenants, and recommending equipment and materials necessary.
- Ensuring all department functions are accurately documented and carried out in accordance with applicable legislation, policies and procedures.

**Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Certifications**
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Trade certification and/or post-secondary education in facility maintenance or related field is an asset
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a large building maintenance environment and at least three (3) years’ experience in a supervisory role required
- Valid Class G or higher driver’s license with driver abstract and CVOR satisfactory to the Town
- Criminal Record, Judicial Matters and Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the Town
- Certifications including first aid, working at heights, elevated work platforms, etc. are assets
- Strong knowledge of building maintenance, mechanical systems, and related legislation
- Exemplary leadership skills with the ability to work effectively and professionally with both internal and external stakeholders, and ability to respond calmly and efficiently in emergency situations.
- Well-defined sense of diplomacy with strong communication, organization, time-management, public relations and customer service skills
- Ability to meet deadlines, function well under pressure, and respond to frequently changing demands and priorities
- Proficient technical and computer abilities
- Must be willing and able to act as 24/7 emergency contact for civic facilities
