Assistant Production Supervisor

**Job Overview**
As an Assistant Production Supervisor at Electrical Contacts Limited (ECL), you will play a key role in ensuring production and quality targets are consistently met. This position requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills to support your team, drive efficiency, and uphold safety and quality standards.
**Responsibilities**
- Lead and support production employees (15-25 per shift) to achieve daily performance and quality targets.
- Plan, monitor, and evaluate production results; provide coaching, counseling, and corrective action when required.
- Organize workflow and assign responsibilities at the start of each shift.
- Monitor production schedules, progress, and order completion in Epicor, adjusting as necessary to meet goals.
- Proactively manage process flow to minimize bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams to resolve issues on the floor.
- Ensure compliance with PPE, safety procedures, quality control plans, and work instructions.
- Oversee equipment use, schedule preventative maintenance, and address safety concerns.
- Approve time and expenses, track employee efficiency, and audit labour/material variances.
- Participate in Monthly Supervisor meetings, and required training programs.
- Support employee development through cross-training and back-up training initiatives.
- Handle employee concerns, vacation requests, performance management, and recognition responsibly and confidentially.
- Conduct safety inspections, lead accident investigations, and oversee first aid and hazard reporting.
- Other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.
**Experience**
- Secondary school diploma (Grade 12) required; post-secondary education considered an asset.
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment is required.
- Strong understanding of production processes, quality control standards, and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
- Proficient in using manufacturing software and tools; experience with data analysis is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff.
