NAIT is looking for an enthusiastic self-starter with strong customer service skills to join our team as a Payroll & Benefits Administrator. Reporting to the Manager, Payroll and Benefits, and working as a part of the team, you are accountable for your assigned section of the full-cycle processing of two bi-weekly payrolls for NAITs up to 3,000 employees.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Process two bi-weekly payrolls for NAIT’s salaried and casual employees
- Process new hires, terminations, adjustments, employee changes. Information, pay rate changes, promotions, deductions, benefit changes, etc.
- Verify time submissions and import entries to payroll.
- Prepare ROE’s, off-cycle payments, process various payroll reports for audit.
- Administer benefits for health, dental, life insurance and pensions.
- Ensure compliance with provincial legislation guidelines, collective agreement as well as internal policies and procedures.
- Review and verify source documents.
- Investigate and correct payroll discrepancies.
- Responding to payroll inquiries.
- Calculate termination and severance pay.
- Liaise with all HR areas, government departments, and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Cover off duties in the absence of other team members and provides support to the Payroll and Benefits Manager.

**Skills & Abilities**:

- Comprehensive knowledge of payroll related legislation as well as full cycle benefit administration.
- Experience with using Microsoft Office suite, and advanced data entry skills.
- ERP systems experience and knowledge of PeopleSoft HCM would be an asset
- Strong team player with a commitment to professionalism and excellent customer service
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as outstanding analytical skills are required to effectively deal with all clients and internal/external stakeholders.
- Aptitude for critical thinking and time management.
- Experience in working with cross functional teams.

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience, preferably with payroll, benefits and pension experience.
- Completed certification through the National Payroll Institute preferred.
- Nearly-completed certification through the National Payroll Institute considered.
- A good understanding of full cycle payroll in union and non-union environments, including experience with G/L reconciliations and accounting entries.

**Remuneration**:$2,073.39 - $2,747.17 biweekly with a comprehensive benefits package
