**Position Title**: Program Lead - Nîkânîwin Program
**Reports To**: Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) Manager of Service Delivery & Nîkânîwin Partnership Group
**Probationary Period**: Six Months
**Position Duration**: This is a contract position scheduled to run until December 31, 2025, with the possibility of extension based on program needs and funding availability.
**Overview of Position**: BBBS and Indigenous Partners: Sask Sport, Federation of Saskatchewan Indigenous Nations and Metis Nation-Saskatchewan, are seeking an individual who can build community through collaboration and communication. This individual will build partnerships and relationships with Indigenous communities and service agencies to establish program sites for the new Nîkânîwin program.
Nîkânîwin is a Cree word that means to lead from the front, to be the first to lead and to develop leaders who come behind you. It is about excelling in leadership. We are looking for someone who is willing to develop into a Nîkânîwin leader by working with respect and integrity and approaching the role with curiosity and growth.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. _Program Delivery (60% of time) _
- Volunteer Recruitment and Management: Actively recruit, screen, and maintain adult mentors to ensure effective matches with group participants, meeting program objectives and fostering friendships based on mutual respect.
- Program Maintenance: Provide ongoing support to program-based volunteers, youth, and families, ensuring consistent communication and service delivery that meets the needs of all participants.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain all administrative forms, including notes, statistical recordings, and program support documents. Ensure data input and updates to records are completed promptly. Training on data processes will be provided.
- Confidentiality: Uphold the confidentiality of all files and information pertaining to families, volunteers, staff, and the Board, ensuring trust and security in all interactions.
- Referral Services: Make referrals to other organizations and agencies that may provide beneficial services to families, facilitating holistic support for participants.
- 2. Community Engagement and Partnership Development (20% of time) _
- Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, community groups, and service providers to build program reputation and participation.
- Promote the Nîkânîwin program through presentations and participation in community events, helping to get Indigenous youth and families involved.
- Work with community stakeholders to evaluate programming needs and make changes based on feedback.
- 3. Program Evaluation and Improvement (10% of time) _
- Collect and analyze data to evaluate how the program works and offer suggestions for changes where needed.
- Help create reports and presentations to share the good news of the program with the Nîkânîwin Partnership Group and other community partners.
- 4. Administrative Duties (10% of time) _
- Assist in managing the program budget by following good financial practices and policies that will be provided.
- Keep accurate records of all program information.
- Be curious about youth mentorship and community building and take opportunities to learn when available.
**Desired Knowledge and Qualifications**:
- A degree or diploma in fields such as Child and Youth Care, Family Studies, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or related areas is beneficial. However, we recognize that formal education is but one path to building competencies, so relevant experience in place of a degree or diploma will be considered.
- Experience engaging with Indigenous communities, including familiarity with cultural protocols and practices, is highly valued.
- Skills in volunteer recruitment, program development, community partnership and relationship building would be helpful for prospective applicants.
- Strong organizational skills to help manage multiple program sites.
- Comfort with Office 365 programs is an asset.
