LHSC is known for its great people and great care, with a workforce of close to 15,000, dedicated to delivering the highest quality patient care while partnering with communities to transform health, one life at a time. - The Security Department ensures the safety of all staff, patients, and visitors at LHSC including safety planning, investigations, and fire safety. **Posting Period**: January 23 - February 6, 2025 **Job Summary**: Reporting to the Manager, Security_,_ the Coordinator, Security is accountable to ensure the safety and security of patients, visitors, hospital staff, building facilities and property. This is accomplished through the provision of consistent guidance to Security Guards and contract Guards, liaising with leadership representatives and front-line staff corporate-wide, preventative security, coordination of emergency response, public relations, investigation, and report writing. In emergency or incident situations, the Coordinator assumes the 'Incident Manager' role, directing the Security Guards in the performance of front-line activities. The Coordinator, Security is accountable for day-to-day department activities, including the management of human and material resources, day-to-day staffing and scheduling, development and support of a healthy workplace, risk and utilization measurements, and facilitation of improvement initiatives and change management, while operating within approved operational budgets and financial guidelines and controls. A major focus of the role is fostering effective working relationships and networks within the team/unit and with other teams across the organization. The shifts include days, evenings, and weekends on occasion.
