Position Summary

The People Operations Specialist will support the area of talent management by administering programs that evaluate, measure, and enhance employee performance, development, and engagement. This role will coordinate and align with the People Operations function and initiatives across North America but will be primarily responsible for personnel in the Toronto office. The person must demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for maximizing and championing employee success within a diverse culture.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist in establishing talent development programs and systems to develop and enhance the skills, unique strengths and capabilities of employees.
- Coach, support, and advise managers and individual employees to motivate and maximize team/individual effectiveness, success, and health/wellness.
- Strengthen performance management systems and connect to employee development and career path planning in a way that energizes and motivates employees.
- Evaluate talent across the organization and provide input on organizational design and succession planning.
- Design and facilitate programs that create an engaging and inclusive culture.

Job Duties/Responsibilities Cont.
- Assist in creation of employee reward and recognition programs.
- Identify methods to streamline human capital management processes through automation and efficient use of HR systems to create space for innovation.
- Assist in ensuring a culture that recognizes and rewards creativity and risk-taking.
- Establish and utilize mechanisms to collect employee feedback to take the pulse on the culture.
- Promote strong cross-departmental collaboration, integration, and information-sharing.
- Contribute to brand management and making the company shine and be a place of pride to work for our employees.
- Encourage and motivate those around you with an encouraging attitude and positive energy.

Education

Experience Required
- BS/BA degree in Human Resources preferred/related field or equivalent work experience in human resources area.
- Strong understanding of human resource, performance management, and talent acquisition practices.
- Previous talent development experience preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with HRIS & LMS systems preferred; openness and curiosity to learn new technologies.
- Represent HR with high level of professionalism, responsiveness, and emphasis on providing the highest quality of service to employees and clients.
- Proven ability to maintain and respect confidentiality; demonstrate strength of character and ethics.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team across all levels in the organization.
- Must have strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a collaborative spirit, positive mindset and openness to continuous improvement.
