Here’s where you come in

As part of the Non-Ferrous Sales team, you will be responsible for all back-end functions related to our overseas shipments, from contract creation to container arrival as well as providing a positive experience to external and internal customers.

What you will be responsible for
- New consumer account setup
- Contract management
- Pricing shipments
- Preparing shipping documents
- Ensuring all documents are sent within designated time frames
- Ensure timelines for pricing and payment by customer are met
- Tracking shipment status
- Communicate with accounting team
- Assist in creation of Original Bill of Lading (OBL)
- Prepare/request final OBL/Sea Waybill release once all criteria is met and validate accuracy
- Prepare OBL packages and courier
- Investigate and process claims
- Complete month end processes
- Work closely with internal and external parties to provide shipment status
- Communicate with CMI’s accounting team to monitor timing of receivables and payables
- Assist in creation of Original Bill of Lading (OBL) along with freight forwarders and validating for accuracy
- Prepare/request final OBL/Sea Waybill release once all criteria is met and validate accuracy
- Investigate and process claims where necessary and approved
- Complete month end processes in the internal system

What you bring to the table
- High School Graduate
- Post-secondary education in commerce, business or international trade is an asset
- Minimum of three (3) years of related experience in a similar role
- freight forwarding
- ocean export procedures
- knowledge of Incoterms
- knowledge of overseas shipping requirements
- required documents (packing list, invoice, B/L draft)
- Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Intermediate computer skills with MS Word (Excel and Outlook)
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic computations required to calculate prices and discounts and prepare reports
- Customer service oriented, possess tact and judgement in dealing with difficult and demanding customers
- Organized, detailed oriented, ability to prioritize tasks
- Strong judgement and decision-making ability
- Possess problem analysis and solving skills
