**Job Title: HSE Manager**
**Report to**:President/CEO
**Overview**:This position is responsible for ensuring the highest levels of risk management and loss prevention are maintained by managing the company’s Health, Safety and Environment Management System. You will provide operational leadership to provide internal and external customers with industry leading best practices. You will be responsible to coach, mentor, direct and supervise shop and field activities.
**Responsibilities Provide guidance, support and oversight for shop and field staff (ie.**and Duties**:inspections, investigations, client demands, etc.)**
- Actively participate in safety meetings by providing relevant information for use during the meeting
- Provide leadership and vision for future growth and development by assisting Management to ensure employees are informed, aligned and accountable
- Collaborate with the Management team to address all HSE concerns from within the shop and field locations
- Communicate all changes to legislation to management and staff
- Track and maintain all necessary training requirements for crew (ie. working at heights, confined space, etc.)
- Manage all drug and alcohol testing requirements for pre-access site compliancy and post incident policies. Including but not limited to booking, and follow up etc.
- Build and maintain a COR compliant Health and Safety System which includes:
Policies & procedures for Management, Supervisors, and Workers Safe Job Procedures Safe Work Practices Code of practices Applicable regulatory requirements Hazard assessments and control Emergency response procedures Inspection schedules/procedures Investigation procedures and documentation Record keeping and stats analysis
- Form, maintain, and participate in a joint health and safety committee
- Co-Chair Joint health and safety committee.
- Support sales staff for job bids and safety submissions to demonstrate compliancy and secure good favor with potential clients
- Monitor and adjust compliancy requirements for 3rd party platforms by submitting and updating related documents (ex: ISNet, Complyworks, etc.)
- Frequent travel across Western Canada
Qualifications**:5+ years consecutive field experience**
- 5+ years as a HSE Coordinator or Manager
- NCSO designation
- Certified to complete internal COR audits
- First Aid certified
- Current CSTS, PSTS
- Working knowledge with WCB Claims Management
- Experience in energy/oil and gas an asset
- Experience within a shop setting an asset
- Course certification to teach required field tickets an asset but not required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Working knowledge of SharePoint sites
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills to aid in adapting to changing work scope and priorities
- Strong mentorship abilities to aid employees improve their knowledge and understanding of company practices and policies
