We are seeking an experienced, dedicated HSE Lead to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will coach, support, instruct, and ensure that managers and employees, at all levels, know and adhere to the HSE legislation, HSE company policies and procedures. You will support shop and field operations.
**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY - reporting to the QHSE Director**
1. Office Responsibilities:
- Monitor HSE reporting: Haz ID, Job Observations, Safety Interventions. and provide input on the relevant ones to Managers of operations.
- Notify the QHSE Director and relevant Management team of HSE reports that requires in depth review/investigation: Near-miss, High risk Hazard IDs, Safety Interventions, work refusals.
- Collect and process HSE data for Monthly Statistics.
- In coordination with Field Supervisors and Managers, conduct reviews of Formal Hazard Assessments.
- Monitor training requirements: Book training and upload certificates in the HSE database.
- Assist the organization in accident investigations and Root Cause Analysis.
- Manage Industrial Waste, including temporary storage as well as reuse/recycling/disposal.
- Management of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) in the company SharePoint.
- Conduct Annual Commentary Drives for office personnel.
- Deliver in-house training for office/shop personnel.
- Support implementation of COR program, including internal auditing.
- Provide HSE advice to Shop operations and conduct regular Shop inspections.
- Complete HSE projects under the guidance of the QHSE Director.
2. Field Responsibilities:
- Deliver training and coach personnel on Formal Hazard Assessment, Risk Management and Risk Controls.
- Update Formal Hazard Assessment that includes feedback from employees and/or consultants.
- Conduct Assessments for Field Ergonomics Program (Injury Prevention).
- Conduct and communicate Assessments for Dropped Objects and Mechanical lifting operations.
- Coach teams in conducting Job Site Hazard Assessments.
- Conduct/Participate in Emergency Drills. Provide feedback to PDHS and Client Reps.
- Inspect Emergency Response Plan (ERP) resources and procedures (Fire extinguishers, First Aid Kit, Bear Awareness, etc.)
- Coach/Mentor Green Hand employees on conducting and implementing Hazard Assessment and Risk Controls, Job specific hazards, SOP Hazard, and controls.
- Update/communicate information required by Legislation at field locations: SDS, Legislation, ERP, JHSC.
- Conduct in-house HSE training.
- Conduct Annual Commentary Drives for Field personnel.
- Coach employees in their driving performance based on the GPS monitoring system.
- Provide support to the Field teams as it relates to safety expertise during the execution of the job.
3. General:
- Become a trusted team member to support the implementation of the HSE-MS of the company.
- Participate in all initiatives from the company that promotes quality, well being and the growth of the business.
**Experience Required**:
- Minimum 5 yrs. of experience in the O&G industry.
- Experience in implementing/supporting HSE Management Systems.
- Experience of HSE management tools including Alberta Partnerships, Certificate of Recognition.
- Experience with Workers Compensation Board (WCB) claim management.
- Experience with ISNetworld, Avetta, ComplyWorks.
- HSE Professional education and supplemented by accreditations (CMIOSH, CRSP, CRST, CSP, NCSO, e.g.).
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with diverse job functions and people.
- Demonstrate competency with Microsoft 365.
- Must have logical mindset with organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- legally entitled to work in Canada
- Excellent PC skills
*Must live in Edmonton, AB Region.

**Salary**: $68,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
