The CHEO RI is recruiting a full-time Engagement Coordinator to grow relationships and support new community partners.
We are looking for a highly motivated Engagement Coordinator to join our Indigenous child health research team. This team combines research and knowledge translation to create and share culturally relevant and accessible resources. Over the last 15 year our team has created a novel child self-assessment tool that is shared with Indigenous communities. The tool is called the Aaniish Naa Gegii: Children’s Health and Well-being Measure or

RESPONSIBILITIES
Our Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for promoting the use of the Aaniish Naa Gegii: Children’s Health and Wellbeing Measure across Canada in Indigenous communities and agencies. Specifically, they will:
- Promote the Aaniish Naa Gegii tool and resource hub in First Nation Inuit and Metis (FNIM) communities
- Attract FNIM communities to use the ACHWM within their practice
- Advance Data Sovereignty in FNIM communities across Canada
- Deliver community-specific training both virtually and in communities across Canada
- Present the ACHWM content at conferences and meetings
- Travel to remote communities to support implementation, data gathering and follow-up
- Develop knowledge translation materials (e.g., resource hub materials, videos, presentations, content, social media)
- Create and maintain outreach files and notes for each community partner
- Actively contribute to team and community meetings
- Professional development relating to Indigenous child wellness and data sovereignty
- Perform various administrative duties and other related duties as assigned by the supervisor
- Perform work in accordance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all CHEO corporate/departmental policies and procedures related to the Occupational Health and Safety Act
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- University undergraduate degree in a health-related field (BA or BSc) (Essential)
- A Master’s degree in a health-related field is an asset (preferred)
- Indigenous experience, heritage or extensive knowledge of Indigenous cultures (Essential)
- Experience working in or with Indigenous health systems (preferred)
- Knowledge of graphic design and related software (e.g. Adobe, Canva) (preferred)
- Communications experience (e.g., developing newsletters, social media, videos) (preferred)
- Experience with project management (preferred)
- Experience in sales and marketing (preferred)
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills (Essential)
- High level of professionalism and interprofessional skills (Essential)
- Proficiency in English (Essential)
- Proficiency in French (preferred)
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Able to work effectively and independently in a hybrid environment
- Work in a hybrid environment, on-site at the CHEO RI 2 or more days per week
- Able to be highly productive with mínimal supervision
- Able to work in a dynamic environment, multi-task and meet deadlines
- Able to travel to support community partners in rural and remote areas
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Eligible to work in Canada;
- Compliance with CHEO RI’s Universal COVID-19 Vaccination Policy; and
- Police Record Check.
