TITLE: Research and Evaluation Coordinator
Eating Disorder Research Lab
TERM: Full-time (1.0 FTE) - 12-month contract with a possibility of extension
SALARY: $30 - $36 per hour, plus benefits (commensurate with skills and experience)
REPORTS TO: Dr. Nicole Obeid, Scientist and Janessa Porter, Research Program Manager

CHEO RI has an immediate requirement for a Research and Evaluation Coordinator.
The Eating Disorder Research team is located within the CHEO RI (Ottawa, Canada), and is comprised of scientists, clinician-scientists, a research manager, several research coordinators and assistants, and volunteers and students. This fast-growing team is recognized as a national leader in pediatric eating disorder research, spearheading several innovative cutting-edge studies that cross-cut health systems and clinical research.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Evaluation and Implementation
- Support the ongoing development of an evaluation framework.
- Assist in the planning and execution of the evaluation strategy and implementation of a national learning health system initiative.
- Identify key performance indicators and metrics to measure program success.
- Collaborate with FREEDcan team and partners for ongoing evaluation needs and requests.
- Embed implementation science in the planning and evaluation of the project.
- Support the collection, cleaning, analysis and synthesis of research data.
- Conduct quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods analyses.
- Integrate data from multiple sources, including but not limited to surveys, administrative databases, and external datasets.
- Work with other team members on implementation resources and tools.
- Contributes to data management strategy and best practices for the Eating Disorder Research Lab.
Research and Project Coordination
- Participate in development of manuscripts, grant submissions, policy briefs, knowledge products, implementation tools, or other reports required.
- Monitor, track and coordinate changes across project activity deliverables, timelines, and resources.
- Develop comprehensive and consistent documentation and reporting for the project.
- Assist with research ethics board submissions, contracts, or other research operations documentation.
- Work with project team to evaluate and monitor project performance, identify gaps, and provide actionable recommendations for improvement based on evaluation results.
- Supervision and mentoring for research staff and students.
- Ensure project resources and tools reflect a dedication to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Maintains in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of relevant best practices.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Engagement and Knowledge Mobilization
- Coordinate and organize relevant meetings, working groups, and knowledge mobilization events.
- Collaborate, engage and co-develop with research, clinical and lived experience experts to integrate evidence-based approaches.
- Develop and evaluate partnerships relating to the implementation and evaluation of FREEDcan.
- Tailor knowledge mobilization efforts to different audiences and produce knowledge products to meet information needs of the projects.
- Create clear and compelling visualizations, reports, and presentations to communicate findings.
- Participate and/or lead in key provincial and national network efforts relating to the implementation of early intervention.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILL AND ABILITIES
- Master’s degree in psychology, epidemiology, health systems policy, public health, health sciences, or a related field (Essential)
- Experience in evaluation in healthcare or child and youth mental health and addictions settings (preferred)
