CHEO RI has an immediate requirement for a Human Resources Administrator to join our incredible team

We are looking for a highly motivated and client-service driven human resources professional that will work closely with the Director of Human Resources and other members of the Office of Research Services to provide exceptional human resources services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the general supervision of the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Administrator will assist with the day-to-day efficient operation of the Human Resources Department. This position has a high volume of transactional tasks daily which include:

- Addressing employee contract renewals including initial and subsequent reminders to manager and researchers, preparing appropriate documentation and completing associate workflow(s).
- Processing ad-hoc contract change requests including, but not limited to contract extensions, reclassifications, grant changes, and salary changes.
- Maintaining confidential, organized, electronic filing system for employee files following established standard operating procedures.
- Entering employee work schedules, absences and hours worked into the electronic timekeeping system on a bi-weekly basis.
- Processing employee departures and completing accompanying workflow including notification to payroll, and the employee.
- Preparing confirmation of employment letters or salary verifications to third parties as requested by employee (i.e. mortgage letters).
- Providing support to our Education Coordinator as directed, including assistance in monitoring mandatory training compliance for our volunteer population as well as issuing various certifications for compliance.
- Providing support to our Health & Safety Team as directed.
- Performing other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILL AND ABILITIES
- Post-secondary education in human resources, working towards or has obtained their Certified Human Resources Professional designation (CHRP) is an asset.
- One to three years of experience in a human resource department setting or high paced client-service environment.
- Ability to process a high volume of work effectively, in a very fast-paced and changing environment.
- Ability to learn new concepts quickly and work independently but also as part of an amazing team.
- Capacity to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
- Solid communication skills (listening, verbal and written) - highly professional.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize a large workload.
- Able to work under tight deadlines.
- Able to be flexible with working hours in order meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in computer skills (Microsoft Office).
- Payroll experience or designation as a PLP is an asset.
- Experience administering benefits is an asset.
- Experience in a research institute setting is an asset.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
