Vaticano Restaurant is looking to hire motivated individuals to be a part of the team as a prep/line cook
Our prep and line cooks are responsible for the preparation of ingredients and stations used in the cooking process and cooking the food. As well as maintaining the kitchen and ensuring it is clean and sanitized. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while having a positive attitude and being a team player.
**Prep cook responsibility**:
- Sets up stations with all necessary supplies
- Practices correct food handling and food storage procedures
- Cooks menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
- Handles, stores and rotates all products properly
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Prepare and manage freshly made prep recipes daily
**Prep Cook Qualifications**:
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills
- Good understanding of ingredients, recipes, kitchen safety, and hygiene
- Energetic and positive attitude
- Be able to stand continuously
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques
- Ability to work under pressure
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
**Experience**:
- cooking: 5 years (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (required)
