Undergraduate Medicine is one of nine programs within the Education Portfolio in the Dean’s Office at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry (SSMD). The UME program coordinates all aspects of the MD program and qualifies students for an MD degree. The MD curriculum is delivered across multiple communities in Southwestern Ontario, including the city of Windsor. The Undergraduate Medical Education Program strives to: deliver quality education and service by ensuring an open and friendly environment exists for faculty, staff and students: uphold a team philosophy; and share and collaborate with staff throughout the Dean's Office and the Schulich Windsor Program. **Responsibilities**: The Program Coordinator provides leadership and oversight to the Course Support team, manages operational changes as a result of curriculum renewal, and oversees UME Policies relating to Assessment, Registration, and Progression. The role is responsible for issues related to student records and registration, acts as the Program Registrar, and advises on issues relating to progression and University (Senate) regulations, coordinates all aspects of the Students with Academic Challenges process, and advises on remediation and progression issues. **Qualifications**: - Education: - University Undergraduate Degree (BA) - Masters Degree in Education (M.Ed.) is preferred - Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) with a background in process mapping is preferred. - Experience: - 5 years’ experience in an education or clinical environment - 3 years’ experience leading staff or work related teams - Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Thorough knowledge of the four-year undergraduate MD curriculum. - Demonstrated understanding of curriculum development, course support background and knowledge, and current and future assessment methodologies, particularly those related to content testing, delivery and e-Learning. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to growth and change. - A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills. - Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with a demonstrated ability to write, apply, validate, and implement policy. - Strong project management skills with the proven ability to take initiative and champion a project from conception through implementation and evaluation - Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize with an eye to consistently producing high-quality work and meeting deadlines in a demanding environment. - Team player who enjoys learning, contributing, and achieving team goals and results - Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative and follow through on work assignments - High degree of professionalism with outstanding ability to work effectively and efficiently with internal and external clients at all levels of management **Western Values Diversity**: **Please Note**: Effective September 7, 2021, all employees and visitors to campus are required to comply with Western's COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.
