**Position Profile**

We’re looking for a **Payroll and Benefits Administrator** to join a leading accounting firm in Montreal. If you are looking for a great workplace with excellent career advancement opportunities, this is it.

As a Payroll & Benefits Administrator, you would be responsible for:
Payroll Administration:

- Ensuring the bi-weekly payment of all firm employees, temporary and permanent
- Calculating the wages due to each staff member, and considering any special payments owed to an employee during the pay period
- Calculating and deducting from the payroll, the taxes, insurance, unpaid days etc.
- Process EI inquiries and ROE’s
- Producing year-end reports and tax forms (T4, Relevés 1, T2200 and other Mandatory forms)
- Maintaining and updating payroll records
- Remaining up to date on Canadian payroll trends and regulations
- Ensuring compliance as it relates to payroll standards and laws
- Handling all inquiries arising from questions about payroll

Group Benefits Administration:

- Assisting employees with the enrollment in the benefit programs (health insurance, registered retirement savings plan, etc.)
- Advising staff of any changes to their benefits
- Coordinating employee leave of absence or long-term disability requests
- Communicating with Insurance providers on behalf of the firm and staff
- Maintaining and updating employee benefit records
- Ensuring compliance as it relates to benefit plan policies

**What you need to succeed**:

- Certified Canadian Payroll Association (CPA)
- Strong knowledge of Payroll systems
- Thorough knowledge of government regulations as they relate to payroll
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position
- Must be able to handle confidential information in an ethical and professional manner
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (French and English)
- Excellent time management, organizational and analytical skills
- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
- Strong commitment to professional client service excellence
- Ability to multitask, respond to ad hoc questions and interruptions while meeting deadlines
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
