**What your day to day life at MavTek looks like**:

- Administer the full payroll cycle for hourly and salaried employees on a bi-weekly basis.
- Prepare and update information for newly hired, inactive and terminated employees (prepare Records of Employment).
- Review payroll and ensure that all special payments are balanced.
- Prepare payroll journal entries, accruals and monthly payroll analysis for the accounting department.
- Manage the year-end process.
- Verify and process government requests.
- Verify and balance T4's, R1 summaries and submit to appropriate governments.
- Keep up to date with any changes in legislation or standards regarding labour laws and internal payroll policies..
- Respond to employee questions related to payroll and benefits.
- Investigate payroll issues, identify causes and make recommendations.

**Enough about us, we want to know more about you**
- Bachelor's degree or relevant experience.
- Five to seven years of relevant experience in the payroll department.
- Superior Excel skills.
- Detailed knowledge of payroll systems, particularly Ceridian Dayforce.
- Excellent knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
- Problem solving and analytical skills;
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge in benefit administration.
- Accounting experience is an asset.
- Experience in the US payroll industry is an asset.
- CPA certification is an asset.
- French is a requirement; the ability to express oneself in English is an asset in order to communicate with our community and our colleagues outside the Province of Quebec.
