**Branding and Communications Manager**
**About Graymont**
**Salary range - $81,000 - $111,565, depending on experience and education**
As the Branding and Communications Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the development and delivery of Graymont internal and external communications strategy, focusing on two primary areas: (1) creating and promote a positive brand image, supporting Graymont’s communications with government entities, and enhancing our sustainability initiatives; and (2) developing and maintaining a consistent communications channel between the company and its employees to reinforce the employee value proposition, imbed and sustain the One Graymont Culture and improve employee engagement.
This position requires exceptional communication skills, strategic thinking, a passion for environmental stewardship, working cooperatively with all stakeholders and a strong commitment to the idea that employee engagement has a direct impact on the company’s ability to meet its strategic objectives.
**Responsibilities**:
**1. Internal Communications**:
- Develop and execute internal communication strategies to enhance employee experience and engagement.
- Working within our matrix, craft compelling and timely messages that resonate with our diverse, global workforce.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging across all internal channels.
- Recommend optimal communications tools to keep employees informed and motivated. and manage communication platforms (such as intranet, social media, newsletters, and town halls)
- Implement feedback mechanisms to assess the effectiveness of internal communication efforts.
**2. External Communications**:
- Contribute to a positive relationship between our company and external stakeholders.
- Develop and execute external communication strategies aligned with our growth and sustainability goals.
- Craft press releases, articles, and other content to highlight our sustainability initiatives and new product launches.
- Collaborate with media outlets, industry partners, and community organizations to amplify our message.
- Monitor and respond to inquiries from external parties, ensuring accurate and timely communication.
**3. Sustainability Focus**:
- Champion our sustainability efforts by effectively communicating our environmental initiatives aligned with company strategy and our decarbonization efforts.
- Promote a culture of environmental responsibility among employees and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with our sustainability team to create impactful campaigns and events.
- Measure and report on the progress of sustainability communication efforts.
- Ensure alignment with industry standards and best practices.
**4. Brand Management**:
- Uphold our brand identity and messaging guidelines including ensuring our brand and website are regularly updated.
- Create visually appealing content (such as reports, brochures, posters, and web-based materials) that reinforces our brand.
- Collaborate with marketing team and graphic designers and vendors to produce high-quality promotional materials.
- Convert complex data into visually compelling content to make sustainability information accessible to various audiences.
**5. Cross-Functional Collaboration**:
- Work closely with marketing, HR, and other departments to align communication efforts.
- Build relationships with communications and sustainability professionals within and beyond our organization.
- Provide guidance to leaders within the organization regarding their communication needs.
- Lead crisis communications as necessary.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- 5+ years of direct experience in communications, preferably related to sustainability.
- Proficiency in digital content creation, graphic design, and social media management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with WordPress® would be an asset.
- Fluency in French would be an asset.
