The West Vancouver Community Services Department is currently seeking a Permanent Part-Time Program Coordinator - Seniors’ Community Outreach. In addition to delivering primarily preventative, community-based services to address age-appropriate needs, this position will respond to seniors’ unique needs to navigate social support services and aging in place needs for seniors in West Vancouver.
- Providing one-on-one outreach to vulnerable seniors in the community;
- Supporting seniors with housing needs, navigating health care challenges, coaching and providing education and resources _to_ family and caregivers and helping complete government forms;
- Assisting seniors with a variety of referral services to ensure they have the resources they need for aging in place in West Vancouver;
- Collaborating with the District’s Financial Access department to identify vulnerable seniors;
- Working in partnership and collaboration with internal municipal services and external senior support services such as: Hollyburn Community Services Society, Alzheimer’s Society of BC, North Shore Community Resources, VCH;
- Working with the Community Outreach Committee;
- Assessing senior and caregiver needs and securing speakers to host outreach events to build community connections
- Understanding a wide variety of seniors’ issues; and
- Performing other related duties as required.
Position Status:
WVMEA (Union) - Permanent Part-Time
Hours of Work:
22.5 hours per week (hours and days of work may vary)
Rate of Pay:
$36.97 per hour
