Through positive leadership and role modeling, the Finance Coordinator is responsible for carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the position in accordance with the mission of St. Matthew's House.

**This position is hybrid, full-time working 35 hours per week Monday-Friday.**

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Provide financial support to the Executive Director, Director of Finance and other managers and staff.
- Calculate, prepare, and issue documents related to accounts such as bills, invoices, inventory reports, account statements and other financial statements using computerized software.
- Prepare and process payroll for staff members.
- Ensure compliance with Collective Agreement and Employment Standards Act
- Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, prepare trial balance of books, maintain general ledger.
- Identify and resolve errors and discrepancies.
- Ensure timely processing of invoices.
- Prepare bank deposit and deposit cash and cheques into the bank.
- Ensure completion of financial documentation for funders with financial reporting cycles (monthly, quarterly, and annual funding cycles)
- Investigate and answer routine financial queries from Managers and other staff as well as external organizations.
- Assist with end of year audit preparation and procedures.
- Perform related clerical duties, such as word processing, maintaining filing and record systems, faxing and photocopying when requested.
- Any other duties that may be deemed appropriate to this role.

**Qualifications**:

- A minimum of 3 years of experience working in a non-profit social services organization in payroll and/or finance
- Diploma in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration is considered an asset
- Strong understanding of accounting processes and procedures
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Quickbooks, Payroll software (currently Payworks), and other computerized accounting software
- Accurate keyboarding skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Experience with general office procedures
- Ability to work under pressure and meet targets and deadlines.

**Additional Requirements**:

- Vulnerable Screen/Police Check is mandatory.
- Employee must be bondable as the position requires handling cash and cheques.
- Knowledge of Quickbooks Online is preferred

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $32.00-$34.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
